My vote is not a "1 off" experience but based on many sales, consultations and equipment buy backs.

I let your staff know that the difference in my experience at Guitar Center and Sam Ash is night and day. The staff at Sam Ash definitely projects an attitude of wanting to assist you with your instrument or sound needs/questions. The approach is always professional. As a novice musician and venue owner I’m going straight to Sam Ash in Columbus for any equipment needs.
I ordered an Epiphone SG Muse on a Thursday evening and was playing the guitar on Sunday afternoon! The guitar was set up, packaged and delivered perfectly and I won't hesitate to shop with Sam Ash again and again.

I go to Sam Ash maybe once every other month for something - strings, picks, cables and gear. The staff is really knowledgeable, friendly and patient. A couple of months ago, I was having a technical problem with my audio interface. I did buy it at the store, but it was 3+ years old and it turned out to be a Windows issue, not the hardware. David Weintraub went above and beyond. Also, thanks to the guy in the warehouse who helped by snapping pics. The pattern on the guitar I wanted varies a lot, and I did not want to buy without seeing the actual guitar. (Other retailers have galleries so you can choose your exact instrument.)
