I actually stumbled across Dr Nickerson and staff when I was looking for an office that did microneedling/skinpen. I've seen a bunch of dermatologists over the years but Dr Nickerson's bedside manner and talent are amazing. Because of that, I decided to move all more dermatology needs to his practice. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM FRONT OFFICE STAFF. Multiple employees can't communicate amongst themselves in coordination of a new patient appointment. If this is the way they treat a potential NEW PATIENT I can only imagine what it would be like once established.

I had an IPL treatment in June of 2021 with Dr. Valentine and everything went great and the pricing was affordable. I booked a second IPL treatment for March 2023, six weeks in advance. When I showed up, they asked me why I only scheduled a 15 minute appointment and then told me the only person who does IPL was not there that day and that their pricing has now gone up (SIGNIFICANTLY, like 3 to 4 times the amount I paid in 2021!). I have never had such an unpleasant experience with a company. The front desk recommended Ashley Dominique when I called to see a dermatologist, however she was not even capable of prescribing me a basic retinol. I was later told it's because she's a PA which made me feel very mislead from the beginning. Currently dealing with another issue (won't go into details) where it's obvious customer service is not a priority. Had a skin tag on my scalp removed here. It was gone before I could even tell. They were really fast and painless. Not to mention that I Booked next day appointment and didn't wait in the lobby. These folks did everything right. I would go back.

I got to see one of their doctors and he was really knowledgeable. However, I'm not sure what happened but on my last appointments, I have not been able to see a doctor and all I get offer is too see an assistant. So good luck getting an appointment with an actual doctor at this location. I saw two different assistants and I was not impressed and was even misdiagnosed. I have only positive things to say about the California Skin Institute office in Vista. Staff are always friendly, never a problem with appointments which are always on time and the office itself is nicely decorated, even the music is pleasant. Dr. Nickerson has always made me feel comfortable with a personable, calming manner and explains procedures and possible outcomes thoroughly. Great experience at this place. I wanted to get a few moles looked at for possible removal. Called on Wednesday and got in next day. Total appointment took 40 minutes - consultation, mole removal, and payment. Ashley and team were incredibly friendly and professional the whole visit. Highly recommend!!!

I've been going to CSI for as long as I've lived in North County, Ashley has become a staple in my life when it comes to treating my acne and other skin concerns. Everybody in the office is extremely kind and sweet. Ashley has always made me feel extremely safe and welcomed, and I've always left feeling like we have found solutions to my concerns. I also see Dr. Nickerson when Ashley isn't available, and it's always the same pleasant experience. Thank you everybody at CSI!
