John (salesman) was our initial contact and he was great to deal with. The installation crew (very conscientious) completed the project on a Saturday which was great. We had a few small problems with a couple of the windows. There was a bit of a disconnect in getting someone scheduled to come out and correct the slight problems. When I first decided to replace the windows, I contacted several companies to come and give me quotes. All three companies were good, however I was most comfortable with the salesman from Scientific. He explained why his windows cost what they did and how they compared to other companies. He also did a great job explaining how the process would work and the time frame it would be done in. Went great - actually better than expected. I called Scientific and John came out for the estimate. Great guy, great Chicagoan, he's been around the city for a long time. This is true of the company as well. They have been doing windows since 1928 and are right up on the north side with local manufacturing. John explained everything very carefully and answered all questions in a comfortable manner. The price was lower than the other two bidders so I had him draw up the contract. I met with John Koloms who went over exactly what my situation was and what my options were. He was polite and answered all my questions and took measurements. He then had another person from Scientific come out a few days later to re-check all the measurements so to make sure 2 sets of eyes had checked the dimensions. John told me it would take about 6 weeks, but it ended up only taking 3 which really impressed me. Had 3 old aluminum windows taken out of a back sun porch and replaced with 3 new vinyl windows.

My experience with them was wonderful. The gentlemen was very pleasant. He explained everything to me. If there was any other way to assist I would let them know. They came out an gave me an estimate on installation of four windows.

So instead of taking the opportunity to sell me something I didn't need, they referred me to a company that would provide me with a lower cost. That is what impressed me-their honesty and integrity. I thought I needed a window replaced and when I called them they said that it sounded like I just needed the glass replaced instead. So they gave me another person to call that is helping.

Went great. John was friendly and punctual. Unfortunately, his company didn't carry the windows in the color we needed (we live in an old condo complex with restrictions on what the windows can look like). He recommended a place where we could find some windows that would meet the criteria of our association, and suggested some other solutions. Gave an estimate for windows.

We liked them, but received another quote that was much cheaper. They gave us a quote for the window replacement.

He was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled and does not take on projects that he can't handle. He installed storm windows. He installed storm windows.
