I did not like that they were trying to up sell me for services I did not need. They gave me an estimate for garage windows.

WE WENT OUT FOR AN ESTIMATE FOR ONE GARAGE WINDOW. WE DID TELL HER IN ADVANCE THERE WAS A MINIMUM LABOR STOP CHARGE. WE PRICED IT WITH AN OPTION TO TRY AND SAVE HER A FEW DOLLARS. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE THAT WOULD EVEN COME OUT AND PRICE JUST ONE WINDOW. SCIENTIFIC WINDOW.
Wonderful. I highly recommend this company. They always returned phone calls promptly and arrived on time for estimate, measurements, and installation. I had four off-center, rotting, wood windows that wouldn't open or close (on my enclosed porch) when I left for work in the morning. My Wife and I chose to have our windows replaced in the middle of the winter before our new baby was born. We met with John who assured us that the windows we chose were great and that it would make a huge improvement on efficiency, and looks. He was so right. These are some of the best windows ever. They recommended a glass company, saving me bundles over estimates I received. The company saved me a bundle by letting me know that I didn't, in fact, need a new window--just new glass. Other companies tried to convince me I needed a whole replacement window (or even two--to match the adjoining window).
I called Scientific (based on their high ratings on Angie's List) to have them repair the frame. They were courteous on the phone. When I explained the problem, they referred me to a former employee who opened his own business, because the work would be very expensive for them to perform on window that they did not install. They were great. All the people I dealt with at Scientific were nice to work with from the sales staff to the installers. The windows look good and the price was competitive. Installed 6 storm windows on landmark house.
Scientific Window did a great job replacing the windows. Since we wanted ours to match our neighbors, they had them in stock and were ready to install them. They did a good job cleaning up and the final work looks very good. We wanted our windows to match our neighbor's and based on their recommendations, we used Scientific Window. They installed 7 windows of varying sizes throughout our home.
The salesperson was a super nice guy. He was informative, gave me a fair price and they seemed to carry a nice vinyl window. However, the price was much higher than another Angie's List company and they provided Pella Duracast windows at a lower price because of a Pella promotion. Otherwise I would have chosen this company and will ask them for an estimate in the future when I redo our building windows. 9 basement windows, remove glass block, haul away and install 7 sliding 3 x 4 windows and 2 double hung.
Scientific Windows has been in business in Rogers Park for many years so we were familiar with their name. The estimate and measurements were taken in June. The windows were installed in August. The installers came just as I was leaving for work at 8 AM. My husband said they were done sometime before 10 AM. The curb appeal of our house is much improved by the neat job that was done.
