DID A GOOD JOB REPLACING A LARGE NUMBER OF WINDOWS. TWO OF THE NEW WINDOWS HAD SOME MANUFACTURING DEFECTS, AND THEY QUICKLY REPLACED THESE WITH NO HASSLES. REPLACED 21 OLD WINDOWS WITH DOUBLE HUNG VINYL WINDOWS. INSTALLED NEW STEEL DOOR AND STORM DOOR.
I wish we had the same great experience as other people seem to have had reading past reviews. I based part of our hiring on them. Our process started with a quote from Jon (Vice President). He was polite and professional, and we felt comfortable going forward with scientific to replace our windows. We wanted a company that was service first, knowing that most Windows offered are about the same, and that the install makes the difference. We placed our order, just under $10,000.00 on 6/13/2017. Unfortunately, SHS does not service my area (NW Chicago Sub) which is understandable. They let me know this right away but then offered to provide consulting and advice. I spoke to someone in their service group and he asked me to send pictures and video and even took the time to have a Face Time chat with me where I showed him my window in real-time and he gave me the information I needed. Could not provide estimate - will not work in Lake Zurich. I submitted to Scientific for a free estimate. They got back to me right away, but informed me that they will not work in Lake Zurich. Keep this in mind for the future!

Unfortunately the building codes in Lake Zurich do not allow for vinyl replacement windows. The apply new egress requirements to houses built before these laws originally existed and if you install a replacement window you will violate the new laws. They should grandfather the older homes just like all the other surrounding suburbs. Mark Brottman Scientific Home Services
