My family purchased a home that Scott Home Inspection did the home inspection for and we have had about $50k worth of damage as a result of them not noticing the issue. We did not perform a home inspection for this client. We are aware of who this person is, and he did not get his own home inspection prior to purchasing his home, and relied on an old report that was done for another client. It is unfortunate that he is experiencing concerns with the home he purchased, but he is not our client and we have never done any work for him. We had our home inspected by Scott (Tod, I believe) and unfortunately there were some pretty significant things that were missed. Most notably, the entire crown on our chinmey needs to be replaced. The pictures in the report clearly showed this, and when I got on the roof just a few months after purchasing the home, I could obviously see the concrete was cracked and brick showing through. I would rate a 0 if that were an option, but it's not. I would NOT recommend Scott Home Inspections to anyone. Their inspector missed a bowed and cracked foundation wall in the inspection of the house we were buying in Estes Park. These issues were visible at the time of inspection but he failed to note them. Shortly after the purchase we discovered the problem because a painter saw it. I called the company and they sent their inspector back out to document the issue.
