ELA’s did not disappoint! I highly recommend this spot for a quaint spot for an evening enjoying watching the boats come in and the swaying palms. The food was expertly prepared and presented. Apps are delicious and well crafted. Wine menu was deliciously varied with bubbles, whites, and reds from a variety of regions. Short ribs were amazing, filet was well cooked and flavored, risotto amazing! Desserts were soooo good and so varied as well that it was hard to choose. This place was a gem!
We have dined at Ellas on the Water many times and really enjoy the restaurant, location in Shelter Cove, well trained wait staff, etc. This past visit, we enjoyed an anniversary dinner on the outside balcony and would say it was fair overall from a food perspective, which was a bit different for us. Usually its fantastic. The lobster ravioli (a favorite) has a couple of pieces that had lobster shell chunks in it which is really not acceptable and the Saffron was bit heavy handed on the seafood scampi. Perfect place for 2-4 people. Not sure I would take visitors to the island unless we go Dutch. Pricey but tasty quality!

As always, we enjoy Ela’s. It is our “go to” for first night in HHI. Service, this time, was not to same standard. Okay, just not great. Still, highly recommended. One okay night will not dissuade my opinion. Examples: did not ask if we wanted extra round of drinks, slow to clear plates, water bottle remained empty and slow to receive payment.
