We always try to visit Ela’s when we’re on HHI. Sunday brunch is high on our list. View over the harbor sets a pleasant tone for an enjoyable meal. We had eggs Benedict and a nice whole sautéed flounder. All were satisfying and well presented. Our server, Karen, kept us supplied with all we needed and, as always, was very attentive. We have been to Ela's many times and it has always been a very good experience except for this particular occasion. Although we had made reservations several weeks in advance of Mother's Day we were shown to a rather undesirable table for two that was against a wall and in a major traffic area. We asked for a different table as our reservation was early and there were many open tables both indoor and outdoor. We had a very enjoyable Mother's Day dinner. Our halibut and grouper entrees were excellent and the outdoor table was very quiet, comfortable with bay views. Outstanding service.
It was a perfect Mother’s Day dinner for this local! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and you know the breath taking views at Ela’s are excellent!! I got the special, Parmesan encrusted Halibut with Lobster stuffing over tomato salsa and coconut mashed potatoes. It was the best meal I have had at Ela’s or anywhere on the island!
We arrived 15 minutes early but got sat promptly. Server came and got order we got an appetizer, split a salad and two entrees. The server brought the appetizer and split salad at the same time which we sent the salads back. 15 minute wait between app and salad which was fine we were in no rush except the server forgot to refresh the silverware I noticed that other tables had the same issue. The crab cakes were mushy and the sides felt like they were reheated rice and veggies. For a $42 plate, it was terrible. The outside seating had a great view and the service is great.
The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. Our server never told us about the specials for the even and was not attentive.
We had a reservation at 2. We didn’t get seated immediately and we waited over an hour before our food came to the table.
