Ela's, along with it's sister restaurants (Celeste, The Pearl and Roadhouse) are always excellent choices for dinner or brunch. Food is always good and the view is amazing, especially if you are there at sunset.
This place is like spoonfuls of pure goodness wrapped tightly in a cloth of Excellence. We enjoyed our experience and look forward to going back in the near future. Keep up the good work
Service and ambience were incredible. The bartender was more than willing to come up with a very pretty mocktail for my wife before we were ever sat. Food was very good but definitely geared towards an older crowd but all the seafood we had was well executed and thoughtfully presented. This is a great date night spot all around. CON: Parking near the restaurant will be kind of a nightmare so you'll either circle the lot looking to snipe a spot before someone else or you can park near the king Neptune statue and hoof it in. Food was amazing! I had the scallops with crab risotto and can’t begin to describe how great it was. Others had the shrimp & grits, lobster ravioli, and gumbo….all very tasty. Great wine list! Prices reflect the quality….reasonable and so good. We vacation in Hilton Head every summer and the whole family can’t wait to go back. We sat outside and overlooked the water, which had great ambiance.
We have been there several times in the past years and have always loved the food. This year the special appetizer, fried oysters and the entree shrimp and grits met our expectations and were great, the entree seafood scampi, was tasteless. The amount of seafood on it was fine and well cooked , but the sauce and subsequently the pasta had no taste whatsoever. My dish looked nothing like the person sitting at the table next to us who had the same dish. It happens. But was disappointing compared to numerous previous visits.
