This was our second time dining at Ela's. We visit Hilton Head every spring and we liked Ela's in 2014 however this year we were not impressed. Our waiter was a slow and had a sloppy demeanor. The food was not impressive either. The filet was cooked to the correct temperature but had a distasteful char ( burnt) taste on the outside. The soft shell crab was greasy and fried and the trout had so much sauce on it the flavor of the fish was overpowered. I would rate the food as adequate but for the price you can do better on Hil... read more

We went to Ela's based on a mention in a travel magazine. Found the food good but just not great. Certainly for the price point, I expected it to be better than it was. Sorry but this is how our entire family of four felt. There re better places to go to on the Island and you may even pay less.

Our first visit to Hilton Head, we picked this restaurant based on online reviews and the proximity to the Disney resort. We had a wonderful evening! We were able to get a table outside overlooking the water. Our waiter provided us with great food recommendations and was very personable. We were surprised at the end of the meal to find out he had just started at the restaurant. We started with the fried green tomatoes appetizer and also the soft shelled crab appetizer. Both were delicious, and our first introduction to South... read more

Ela's turned out to be the perfect first date restaurant. We sat outside, with a marina view. It was quiet and perfect for conversation. Our server was attentive without being intrusive and knew a lot about the menu. We both loved our salads and entrees. His was the yellowfin tuna, and mine was rainbow trout. Delicious, flavorful, simple and beautifully presented on the plate. Will definitely go back.

We started with a wedge salad and beet appetizer. Food, service and atmosphere even better than our last visit. Had the filet, medium rare, done to perfection. My husband had the short ribs also done perfectly.

First the greeting from our waitperson Amanda: sensational !!!! She was knowledgeable of every item , it's design and it's popularity by all customers !! Every item but one (The Fried Green Tomatoes), was a TEN on a TEN scale !. They were only warm, not crisp and disappointing if you are a lover of the traditional dish! Only other comment was that the baked fish was just a tad over baked! HST, I would return over and over and over . Management and kitchen staff know great food and produce it ! I straggly suggest you visit th... read more

Best lobster bisque ever anywhere. Bearnaise cod rice "wrap" only fair. Wonderful Keylime pie. Wish I had time to go back and try, or they had offered, another entre. Service was good but for a Monday night they were very busy and so service was a bit slow.

I had a 5pm Easter Dinner reservation which I made online. I was taken to a lovely table with a view of the harbor, and enjoyed that it was inside since it was quite brisk and cold outside. My waitress was very attentive ,and catered to my every need. For my first course, I enjoyed a tasty Lobster Bisque. I felt the wine list could be updated as my two white wine selections I had to choose from did not give me the one I would have preferred if it had been a bit sweeter. The Strip Steak for my Entree was cooked to perfection ... read more
