We had a first class experience on Saturday night. Plus, we got engaged on the dock. We met in Chicago, the city that has so much connection to the restaurant. The food, atmosphere, and staff was amazing! Thank you!
Food was above average. Service was very good. Definitely over-priced. Fried green tomatoes as appetizer were sub-par. We enjoyed this restaurant last year but it would only rate is as average and not really worth the price.
Hubby found this one in the hotel guide book. We had an AMAZING waiter, Jason. And the food was delicious, as well!
My wife and I sat outside with view of harbor. Staff very nice and attentive. Had lobster nachos, pear and arugula salad wit horseradish dressing, and split the lobster carbonara. Everything was excellent! The lobster nachos were particularly light and delicious. All matched with a nice bottle of wine for a very nice dinner. We couldn't leave the view without sitting with a Bailey's to cap off a wonderful meal. Would recommend without reservation.
Friendly service, great view of harbour, food was excellent but hush puppies were chewie and not great that night. They had also ran out of the special by 7PM and did not have the wine we ordered from the menu. Otherwise our entrees were tasty and fresh.
This was our first time at Ela's and we could not have had a better experience for Mother's Day. My son a chef on Hilton Head had recommended it to us as he frequents Ela's for special occasions. Chef Megan dished up the best Surf & Turf that we have had on the island as well as off island. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for great food, service, views and ambiance.
I've been to Ela's a couple of times now. The food is fantastic and the calamari is a must try (it's more like calamari filets, it's phenomenal). If you are looking for a refreshing cocktail, I would strongly recommend the S.S. Refresh. Delicious! The views of Shelter Cover are gorgeous so I would strongly recommend making a reservation and requesting outdoor seating. Will definitely dine there again!
We stumbled on Ela's when we moved to the island in June. We always go back for special occasions or to get our "lobster fix". The Lobster Carbonara is rich but sinfully delicious, so it is an occasional treat for us. Sitting on the balcony may be the best view for dinner on the island. The yachts are awesome, families go by in kayaks, and smaller boats are returning from a day on the water or headed out for an evening. Beautiful and vibrant with activity.
This was our fourth visit and the food and the views just keep getting better. Multiple options exist for dining outside and views from every table are super. The staff is very attentive and have very helpful suggestions. I LOVE the Calamari. Can't wait for our next visit.
