I'm a local and eat out a lot. I bring my Clinic staff out for dinner for our Bimonthly meetings. So I asked the manager if they have specials for locals. I have my own business and it's good to support locals and local business. His answer: "NO". Simple as that. We have been to several restaurants in the area and they treat locals a little bit better. We enjoyed this place so much the first time we visited, we actually returned two days later for another outstanding dinner! The view is Killer.... every table inside and out offers a great view of Shelter Cove (best outdoor seating on HH!).... and the decor is first class... with a Very attractive bar area and live music. We stumbled upon Ela's for brunch. We were in town for a wedding. We rode our bikes and was pleasantly surprised..Everything was delicious. French fries were perfect and the lobster bisque a winner
all was top notch ...but..I would rate this closer to $$$ than $$
The view is lovely but some of the food wasn't good. Two of us ordered the grouper and it was very overcooked. It was very dry. We sent it back. The server offered us another choice but didn't want to have the kitchen make another order of the grouper. We both order scallops and they were good. They cost $2.00 more. Awesome meal - had the Flounder - best ever!special red wine was perfect and all enjoyed their meals a lot at our table.
Took friends visiting from NJ out to dinner and wanted them to not only have a great meal but also a memorable view of the island and outdoor dining. Ela's was perfect. Service was top notch and not at all rushed. Appetizers were great - we each had something different and shared. They loved the place as did we.
My wife and I had a very pleasant surprise upon arrival at the restaurant. We were seated in a prime spot for a wonderful view of the lake and boats with friendly waves from those on board. The waiter was superb and knowledgeable about the menu and gave quality suggestions from the menu. A bit pricey but well worth it and we enjoyed our dining experience.
We always try a different restaurant when we visit Hilton Head. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent - I had the lobster and my husband had filet mignon and it was done perfectly. The atmosphere was nice and the service was top notch. We will definitely dine here again. Ela's is now on our favorites list.
