Once again Ela's exceeded expectations. The swordfish special was one of the best meals I have ever had and my wife could not stop talking about the Filet Mignon. The wine list is creative and priced right. With great food, excellent service and the best views on the island, this is the restaurant to go to on Hilton Head
A gourmet experience at affordable prices. Food and presentation outstanding. Chef Ramsey definitely not needed. The service is impeccable. This will be my first stop when I return next year.
This was my second time coming to ELA's and I almost forgot how great the food is. I had the striped bass special and my wife had the filet. i don't think my wife and I said one word once the entree's were dropped off at our table, as we devoured every bit. We had a wonderful dining experience. The meals, the crab cakes and scallop entrees, we're very tasteful . The wine list was extensive and the prices were reasonable. The view of the marina at night can't beat. Can't wait til the weather permits outside dining. We will be back. Thank you Sam for making a great night.

Had a 7:30 pm reservation on a recent Sunday evening and was seated immediately, the restaurant was not crowded. The ambiance was very nice, the tables were not crowded together, had a very nice view of Shelter Cove and its evening lights. The service was just right, attentive but not pushy. We were not rushed at all. The food was excellent. Both the Onion Crusted Cod and Diver Scallop dishes were excellent, cooked just right, moist and tender. My Mom and I tried this new spot on our 1st night this visit. This will be a hard act to follow! Started with a great caesar and then I enjoyed some FAB crab cakes with forbidden rice. Mom had the surf and turf (on a bed of southern succotash) and exclaimed that the filet was one of the VERY best she has ever enjoyed! The food was just average. Considering it was Restaurant Week and the selection was a sample of the menu, you would think Ela's would attempt to be at their best to encourage people to come back another time. The filet was rare (almost not cooked) when we asked for medium rare and the portion was very small. Drinks were good. Music was good. We were seated in a small area upstairs (3 tables), which would be nice, if you wanted to be in an intimate area, but we felt very secluded from the rest of the diners.
We really enjoyed the restaurant week menu. The food was very good and served nicely. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. We loved the musician that was there on Saturday night. We will definitely go back. The only drawback was it is very noisy. The views are beautiful.
