Took a gamble on this restaurant based solely on its website and was utterly charmed by its location and truly fantastic food. The bar area had a performer and was your typical bar scene. The seating outside and upstairs, however, really hit the mark with memorable views of the Shelter Cove Marina and the channel beyond. From the menu were brilliant selections and chef's specials were some of the best had during the last several trips to Hilton Head Island. This is a restaurant not to be missed during a visit.
great place on the marina, no corkage fee, very inventive seafood offerings, and a grilled peach appetizer that we had for dessert.
Excellent food and great service and entertainment
Wine selections and pricing were outstanding!! It was inviting to order bottles of wine without being scared of paying Too much. The food is eclectic and Delicious! We had the Macadamia encrusted Local mahi And lobster tails. Ask to sit outside to catch the sunset and watch the Fishing trips, paddle boarders and kayaks coming in. Perfect for a date night or having friends in town to celebrate. If you go for lunch, get the soft shell crab BLT!!
Ela's has a beautiful view, cozy and quiet. Great place to take pictures outside overlooking the marina. My lobster and filet was the best ever with everything done to perfection. We loved the calamari nice and crisp served with two sauces, wasabi and remoulade. The perfect evening was topped off with a delicious chocolate cheesecake served in a boat which we shared as we celebrated our anniversary in style.
Our dinner at Ela's was by far the best part of our vacation. The whole flounder was one of the best dishes I have ever had the pleasure of eating, cooked perfect, wonderful sauce and just so nice to see a restaurant that serves fresh fish. Great food only goes so far however. Thankfully, this is one restaurant that understands that and provided amazing service, great wines at the lowest prices I have ever seen, and the best views anyone could ask for. A bit overpriced
Food was great, service was A-1 - a pleasant 48th-anniversary evening. This was not our first time at Ela's, and, of course, we shall return. I especially enjoyed a wine (pinot noir) by Gloria Ferrer! Superb! Easy to make reservations on line, too, a "plus."
View spectacular--this must be a well kept secret because it was not busy either of the days I went which make no sense because the food was so good! The lobster roll needed a little more lobster to spoil me-but tasty and sweet-- the fried green tomatoes (both days!) were to die for--lightly crispy and delicious. The soft shell crab season is short; so, I was delighted to again taste one of these juicy, fun morsels!
