We will not be back. The service was the worse we have ever had on the island. One example of the service was our sitting there for 25 minutes after finishing our entree. Our waiter reappeared only after we asked one of the staff to please ask him to come see us. And it wasn’t busy, so I don’t know what the problem was. Such a disappointment.
We have been dining here regularly for at least 7 yrs. I must admit this is the 1st time we’ve been disappointed. I know our island is short on help so I will let that slide. We were seated in front of the outside door and had guest and waitstaff traffic and outside air annoying us every few minutes. My husband ordered fish that had bones in it. Do not waste your time dining at this restaurant. There are to many other great restaurants on HHI. We waited over an hour for our food. My wife has a seafood allergy as do about a million other people. The waiter made up all kinds of excuses for the kitchen delay, none which made any sense. The food quality was below average at best and was too expensive. There seemed to be a lot of confusion? The views are of Shelter Cove Harbour Marina.
I was seated at a quaint table on the stairs landing but it was also near the public restroom. I waited about 10 minutes & no one greeted me. When I approached the manager about this, his body language was like, “so?” The waiter approached & apologized that he’d been seated with a 6 top. He worked hard to make up for the initial interaction. The calamari was chewy ( I mentioned it to the server). The crab cake was nice but the lava cake a little dry. Not the best experience.
The food was less than impressive for the prices. We got the calamari and oysters Rockefeller for appetizers, the calamari had a horrible batter and the fish had a strange texture and bad taste, the oysters had way too much sauce etc that you couldn’t even taste them. Food was adequate for the midwestern palate, however my Pittsburgh Blue steak was served prepared medium, and when we returned the dish, the chef sent it back to our table stating that it was prepared to local standards. This seemed not worth the value for a $50 steak, not to mention that they forgot the lobster with the surf and turf. We were still charged for the entree. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Rice was basically uncooked. Sent it back and when it was returned not only was it still undercooked now the fish was way over cooked. Sent it back and I got a replacement fish. The rice was still way undercooked so I just left it untouched. My wife never did get a replacement meal. The waitstaff was very prompt and attentive but the cook staff was really bad. We will not go back and will tell others to dine there at your own risk
An early Saturday reservation at 6PM was a disaster!!! Food was delivered cold and over cooked. It took 20 minutes to re-fire a steak entree to be cooked to medium and was then delivered after all other guests were finished. No attempt to make amends by comping a desert or anything off the bill. Young children screaming while parents not addressing the situation. Will not ever go back.
