SimonMed deserves no stars at all. In year 2017 my husband had a procedure done and he insurance EOB show that one of the procedures they billed was inclusive to another procedure, and that my husband had no copay as he was using an HMO in network provider. After many calls and attempts to correct the billing with no response from them, I submitted my husbands payment, minus the amount they were not supposed to charge him as per provider/insurance agreement. If I could put zero stars , I would. I was forced to pay for my son's CT (or else they wouldn't do the scan) even though I knew it was covered. It was paid promptly by insurance at 100%. I made calls 4 different times over a year: each time the cs rep admitting a refund was never actually processed but THIS TIME they would get it done. I eventually received the refund, almost 2 years after the date of service. My husband was scheduled for an CT with contrast on his neck. The appointment was scheduled and confirmed. We arrived at location after receiving 2 text messages from simon med. 1st text confirmed appointment time and day. 2nd text asked me to click to check in. We arrived an hour early for checkin/paperwork and were told his appointment was "no where to be found " that he was not in the system and would not be seen at that location as they do not do contrast on fridays. Very unprofessional! When I booked my US I told the rep that even though you can verify online with BCBS, due to the type of plan I have you have to call and verify.I lost my insurance card, but they office had all my information on the referral from my PCP. When I arrived I was left waiting in the lobby because they tried to verify online and my ID was wrong. Only it was not if they had followed my instructions. Horrible experience with Anthem, AZ Simon Med Imaging. Insurance verification occurs well after arrival, instead of day(s) before per normal practice of medical offices. This causes significant delays that hijack a patients time and is not respectful nor considerate of us who are juggling multiple appointments and work. I had an issue with my foot and my doctor sent me to Simon Med for MRI (rule out fracture). I filled out all the paperwork the day of my appointment in the waiting room and went to pay the copayment. The person at the front said there wasn't any copay for this appointment. I asked if he was sure; he said yes. I figured I must have met my out-of-pocket expenses for the year since it was November. Used Simon Med once because the location was convenient. Will never use them again. My wife went about 6 months ago for what should have been a ~$130 traditional ultrasound but she was forced to pay $700 out of pocket at time of appointment. The receipt shows we were charged for two additional procedures that were never performed. I've called a dozen times or so and have been successfully refunded for one of those additional procedure but haven't been refunded for the other yet at least 5 months later.
