Great Customer Service, Mediocre Movers I recently moved from South Carolina to Michigan and hired SML through the Penske website. They thankfully were very accommodating after I had to push them back an hour because my rental truck wasn't available when it was supposed to be, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. Would only use if I can schedule Rono and Zack SML crew unloaded our truck in Vancouver WA. They were polite, fast and knowledgeable. SML does not allow for unexpected delays and really doesn't allow enough time to unload but in our situation it worked out. Be sure and make sure you are moving because the require a deposit which you won't get back if you have to cancel.
The workers did a great job The workers were on time and they were very thorough in their job of loading the moving truck. We were very pleased
an ok loading I hired 3 movers to load my 2 trucks for a cross country move. At the last minute I had 2 guys and it took them 3 hours so the price was the same.. One guys insisted he could get it all into one truck..however, I had done the math and knew I needed two trucks. This might've been why he loaded the first truck the way he did. It was boxes and boxes and boxes. No furniture to break it up. But i can't blame him for the way it toppled when we arrived across country..he probably only moves locals. Had issues at the unloading end of the move Unloading crew was scheduled to arrive at 9:00am. By 11:00am there was no sign of them and hadn't heard from them at all. I called SML and they also could not reach the crew that was scheduled. SML rescheduled another crew that arrived at approximately 1:00pm. The loading crew in Jacksonville was excellent! Very professional and helpful and had everything loaded in less than 2 hours. Highly recommend them.
HORRIBLE!!! Broke my stuff, argued with me, and took forever!!! The two men that came out were hired through SML (recommended by Penske trucks) but were apparently also part of Affordable Movers. They were abrupt in communication, rude in their interactions, ignored information I was telling them about different boxes/items that were fragile, and packed the truck where a bunch of my boxes got crushed (which I told them were not suitable for bottom boxes as they were only wardrobe boxes with light clothes in them), they pac... read more
SML was quite timely in their online and personal phone calling follow ups. The crew that was sent was SUPERB!!! They were delayed by unforeseen circumstances but were very professional, contacted me directly and kept me apprised of the situation. We encountered multiple issues with removing items from the home that were outside their control but they handled everything professionally, well thought out and executed. Could not have asked for a better team. Thank you.
Moving the Dumas Family We were pleased with the two gentlemen that helped us move. They were quick with planning which pieces to move into the moving truck and protected the furniture with padding we provided. They also helped unload the truck and placed each piece of furniture in each room exactly where we asked. The boxes were delivered into the room indicated on each box. They had us moved from our rental into our house within two hours.
Worry free moving I used the sevice to schedule movers at my end point of the move. I was pleasantly surprised with the communication which was outstanding! Truth be told I was sceptical that someone would even show, but with great relief and joy they called me early I'm the morning with a great attitude. The movers called two hours before the scheduled time informing of their status and basic information. Once we arrived they jumped into the move without any issues.
