After taking numerous pets to Southview Animal Hospital over many years, I have decided to leave. The past owner was amazing. When they moved into a larger space, they became greedy. They took on too many pet patients and now, you can't get your pet in when they need to be seen. Loyalty over.
Overall all they really care about is money. Pets second, money first. A little back story, my cat was diagnosed with mega colon. So his poop gets hard and backed up. We took him there and they kept him there for four days periodically doing enemas to see if the poop would come out on its own. This place has been going downhill for years. The service is terrible and the front desk staff is rude and incompetent. I've had countless issues, but this is the last straw. I paid $500 on blood tests for my sick cat and they REFUSED to give me the results for over 48 hours (everyone was "too busy"). If you love your pet, don't go to this dump!
I moved here and was referred by a coworker. At the beginning, it was fine & easy to get an appointment. I tried to see the same vet since my pup is older (hoping the vet would build a relationship & care). The next appointment the vet did not remeber us. Then I tried to make an appointment sox months later, I was told the earilest was two months out (for annual). Then my pup had a swollen paw and I called at 5:30pm (during week). My previous review was removed. As a current customer of this clinic I feel it's irresponsible for YELP to remove accurate reviews of real life experiences from its customers. Let's keep in mind that I continued to come to this clinic after it mis diagnosed my puppy (at the time) with allergies when he actually had a severe respiratory infection that required antibiotics. Love Dr. Lee who is great with my reactive dog and was also so wonderful to my elderly lab before I had to say goodbye. I really wish policies were different there. I've been a long time customer and have been going to the clinic for well over 10 years. Since they moved to their new clinic I have found it's almost impossible to get an appointment without having to pay a $200 emergency fee for an urgent appointment. Tried to bring our dog here for a gastronomic issue before trying AERC in Oakdale, was told it would be a few hours' wait. Person we spoke with seemed to get into a verbal with one of the vets right in front of us. Extremely unprofessional by both, I get stress runs high and clearly they were busy but this was a bit ridiculous. Left, went to AERC, and all is well. First and last time we'll visit Southview. Two stars because the person we were speaking with was kind and didn't seem to be the instigator.
Don't take your dog to this place. We had a bad experience from the start and now our fur baby is gone.
Will not return to this place. I took my dog late one night for emergency care and came back to pick him up late as directed when ready. I am abolutely appalled that they called the police stating I sounded intoxicated and with slurred speech. I barely had any conversation with anyone there others than how to give my dog the meds. I was pulled over within 2 blocks of the place. I had not a drop of liquor. I worked all day and mind you in the medical field myself. This was sooo unbelievable.
