Southview vets are amazing.So are their vet techs and staff. I have been taking cats there for years. My unforgettable experience with them was one Christmas Eve, six years ago when a stray little calico cat was brought in to the shelter where I volunteered, emaciated, and barely able to hold her head up. These folks are great. They've been caring for all my many pets for about ten years now. They are compassionate, caring, professional, and they do not pressure you to do more than you want to do. When my 19 year old cat was sick and stopped eating they did not press me to try to take extreme measures to keep him alive a bit longer. They let the pet owner choose what is right and respect that you know your own pet best. I appreciate that so very much.
I'm not sure why for 80% of the visit my pet was taken to an entirely different room that I was not allowed in or told what was happening, but it felt pretty bad, especially considering they didn't tell me what tests were being done until after and was charged $250 for tests I wasn't entirely aware of. The entire process of checking in, examination, testing, and payment also left a lot of questions I wasn't able to answer because everyone wanted us in and out as quickly as possible. I still love my vet there. I miss her but will not go back. My cat had a large tumor in her sinus and I decided to let her go rather than put her through anything. She was FELV positive, so I knew her time was limited. I've been going to this vet for years. Very caring, nice techs who really help and care but it changed when they moved into their new building. Southview animal hospital is the worst most uncompassionate place I've ever been to. I've spent a ton of money with them. I need to bring my dog in for an emergency and they turn me away because I couldn't pay for the treatment if needed only the exam they wouldn't set up a payment plan nothing I've been going to these people since I was like 7 years old and I will never go back again. This place is HORRIBLE. We've put two pets down here and both times insanely rude comments were made like saying I needed more time with my pet who needed to be put down in an emergency situation and was told "i don't wanna prolong this because I've been here since 6am" and on top of that had a family member bring their pet in who was sick and had that in the notes just for them to vaccinate them (which you shouldn't do with a sick pet) and then not only blame but be insanely rude to that owner. So insanely disappointing
The staff is incompetent.. They shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine at all! You had better not ask any valid critical questions either, because they will never allow you back... They apparently are so primal in instinct, that they take honest concerns and questions as insulting.. And to be clear the questions were not answered and meager service was rendered at best. AVOID THIS PLACE !!!

After tonight I have lost all faith in this establishment. My dog has epilepsy, it's imperative that she gets her medication in a timely manner. I called this place early Friday afternoon for her refill. Typically , the wait time for prescription refill can take anywhere from 2-6 hours in my experience. For whatever reason, they've been dragging their feet for 38 hours and counting! I've called twice just to get bs apologies and excuses about how long it's taking. Pet parents beware! This place clearly put money above the animals' wellbeing. I took my cat to Southview on two different occasions due to her vomiting and lack of appetite. They clearly exploited my anxiety and took advantage of my urgency to figure out what's wrong with my cat and oh boy, they milked more than $1,200 out of me without giving me a treatment plans or peace of mind.
