I went here to put my 18 year old dog down I got him at 6 weeks old. He was having major issues because of his age. It started out nice the staff was very good. I paid for a private cremation to get his ashes back. I called a week later to see when I could pick up my boy. I was then notified that although I paid for the private cremation and have reciepts to show it, whoever put the information down on the cremation paperwork put community cremation. I brought my dog in for euthanasia yesterday. They didn't sedate her prior (like every other vet i've been to) and she screamed in terror at the end. I'll never be able to forget that.

I walked in to get my cat antibiotics and I understand most people bring their cats in a carrier but my cat is a service cat and does well without she’s used to her harness and leash ; plus it doesn’t say it’s required anywhere. When I got there the staff treated me as if I didn’t know how to take care of my own cat and gave me all the attitude rolling their eyes getting upset instead of simply asking I bring a carrier the next visit. My cat went into their vet for emergency surgery for a urinary blockage and 3 days later I was called saying he died. He went in on a Friday. Saturday and Sunday I got calls from the vet saying like he came out of surgery good and he was recovering ok and that they we’re just waiting a couple more days to send him home to make sure he was completely ok. horrible customer service and extremely rude staff. my dog was scheduled for a vaccine. he went in and had spots on his stomach. I was planning on taking him back at a later date and next thing I know I have a $500 vet bill for a vaccine appointment. the vet yelled at me for "sending a messenger" when I had to work as well as started pushing me to make another appointment to come back. she was very rude, and very dismissive. I am so disappointed in this place. I did my research and it had good reviews and felt I could trust them with my pet. 1) the lack of communication is horrible, they don't show you x-rays, lab results, or even give you instructions on when or how to feed your dog medicated food, unless you request which take up to 3 days to receive. 2) the nurses or whoever answer the phone are rude and seem annoyed when you ask them to many questions. 3) they prescribed me a food for my dog that was disconnected and told me I just need t... read more

I had been a client for many years, Until last week when I called with a true emergency with my Doberman who needed to be seen and was told to call other vets as you were closing in a hour in a half! Needless to say when I got her to the vet she was in critical condition and spent 3 nights in the hospital. Obviously going home on time is more important than seeing clients that needed help! Shame on you!

Neglecting to see my dog for a follow up after you gave her shots and did not diagnose congestive heart failure... which her new vet said was visible... my dog had to be put down a week after you people saw her and ignored her a revisit. Never go to Spanaway Vet!
