We've dined at Stone Creek several times before and have enjoyed it, although the food and service is somewhat hit or miss. Our last visit there with friends on Saturday night was a definite miss. The service was pretty pathetic, and the food was not very good. I ordered their combo and chose Mahi Mahi and scallops, with broccoli only as the veg. Great decoration. Great reputation. Don't understand the service of food. It is lacking. I try this restaurant every time my wife is out of town 9she has given up on it). The menu always looks and sounds great, but then the food is disappointing. I ordered the special, Kobe beef medallions. The beef was bland, the mashed potatoes it was served on tasteless. Ordered appetizer, but server forgot it so cancelled it once entrees arrived. She apologized but didn't offer anything to make up for it. Seated near bar area and VERY noisy. Almost difficult to hear persone across small bar table. Wines were moderately pricy withvery little under $30. Salads entrees were excellent.
Please do not accept reservations online for 11pm when your store closes at 10pm. Maybe I should have called to check, but I thought since you accepted the reservation, you had to be open. My wife and I wasted our time and gas thinking we were going to feast on some Spicy Garlic Shrimp that evening. Went for a romantic birthday dinner. Ended up with a table in the center of the room infront of the kitchen. It was so loud we could barely hear each other talk across the table. We were able to switch to a booth after requesting a new table. Ordered the chef special of duck and recieved the fish. So after my girlfriend finished her meal I got my order 20 min later. food was good but the bill was very expensive for what we got. and if you order a drink on the rocks there is an additional $.75 charge for the ice!!
What a disappointment. The service saved the day - our waiter was great. The food was just OK. I guess I was prepped for much better. The salad was not made fresh. Are you kidding me? I can get a pre-made salad at Wendy's. The rest of the meal was just OK.
The service was friendly and the food was good, but too slow for lunch time.
The greeter sat us at a table with no lighting. We said to the waiter "it's kind of dark" and he just smiled. So we had to reseat at another table with light, so we actually could see the menus. I had pork chops, but had to ask/wait a long time for a sharp knife. There were not a lot of other diners so I'm not sure why it took so long for the waiter to take our first, or subsequent, drink orders.
