Not our first visit. Started off rocky when greeted by the rudest young hostess. And why make a reservation if you still have to wait 20 minutes while those parties without reservation are seated before you? Our waiter was nice enough...but clearly had too many tables to attend to. We waited 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken. Usually very good food. I ordered chicken parmesan for the first time. It was overcooked. The pasta was a pile of mush.
The tables were too close together giving a cramped feeling and causing the noise level to be too high to enjoy dinner. Food was average. Steak was good, pork chops were extremely tough. Vegetables were cold - butter would not melt. Service was just average.
Many very nice tables were available BUT permission had to be obtained to seat us at our preferred locations. Wait-staff assignments are controlled by the manager. I was the 'host' and I ordered the Beef Stroganoff. It was absolutely tasteless and, while, when asked, the wait-person said that there was ample beef, in reality, there was very little beef and slivers at that. There is not anything amazing or awful there. Our service was fair. No one every checked back to see if we needed refills on drinks.
We have been to various Stone Ceeek restaurants and have always been pleased. This particular visit was horrible. There were fruit flies hovering over our table trying to share our food and drinks. It made us wonder how clean the kitchen was as we were seated right next to the kitchen. The waitress was overly flirtatious to my husband, leaning into him and touching him as often as she could. The food was wonderful. The service was poor. I ordered a caramel apple martini from the bar. After taking a sip, you couldn't taste the apple or caramel, so I shared that with my waitress, she brought back a glass of grenadine so I could flavor it myself. My wife and I have gone to Stone Creek several times and it seems that the quality is on the decline. During our most recent visit the staff we interacted with seemed almost disoriented, and our server was clueless. We both ordered steaks and both were severely under-done. My wife just elected not to eat it and I sent mine back for another try. It was still quite borderline when it came back. We won't be back - too many other excellent options nearby.
