I have dined at this location many times. It seems as though there is always some issue. This past experience was similar. I ordered a salad and it never showed up. I ordered fish for dinner. I believe the entre was $21.99. When it arrived, the portion was smaller than a McDonald's cheeseburger. The service was very slow. Took almost 90 minutes for 3 of us to have dinner, with no drinks. Food was overpriced for the food you got. Portions were undersized and overseasoned. We were seated next to the kitchen which was very hot and loud. Mixed drink was watered down. Seats/tables were uncomfortable. The wait staff made rare stops by our table. I will not be coming back and will let all people know.
Whether you want to just stop in for cocktails or have a meal, Stonecreek has always been one of our favs. The bartender makes the BEST Cosmo in a perfectly chilled glass, hands down. The Beef Perogies with Shitake Mushroom appetizer (we hesitantly ordered, but so glad we did) was fabulous. Wow. The Beet Salad was so good, I wish I could figure out how to make it at home! The atmosphere is always cozy, love they've extended the bar since we do sometimes just stop in for a glass of wine. Good job to all!
The reception desk is a joke! We made reservatiotns and we waited more than a half hour after reserved time. The worst was yet to come when unreserved guests were called in before us. Whenwe arrived they told us be a few minutes. Wrong! It was a The management needs to do something about their reception desk. Fine restaurant but I'll frequent others and prefer to do my dining at the fine restaurants in downtown or northside Indianapolis.
We have eaten at Stone Creek several times and this time we were disappointed in the change of menu and as it got busier (Mother's Day) our server seemed a bit overwhelmed and couldn't get to us as promptly. They touted the change in menu but we lost one of our favorite items, Salmon Salad and it was replaced with a Smoked Salmon salad. I went to Stone creek in Zionsville on Mother's Day. Everything was great except our server. When we arrived to Stone Creek, we were greeted warmly and sat right away. We sat at our table in the middle of the restaurant about 10 minutes until my Mom had to get up to ask if someone was coming to our table. We have been to Stone Creek several times in the last couple of years. Overall, it's been a good experience. However, it seems that each time the experience has not been as good as the last. This time, the following issues were encountered: 1. We made reservations a month in advance, but my family of 5 were seated at a table designed for 4. We went to Stone Creek for Easter Brunch, I would have thought that it was their first ever brunch, based on how many little glitches they had in the system. I was SHOCKED to find out that this was not their inugural run. We had reservations at 11:15, with our three boys, and the hosts sat at least 4 groups of a similar size, who had arrived after us, prior to our being sat. Always enjoy Stone Creek. Got behind a large party last night that was seated upstairs and our meal took forever to come out from the kitchen. The waiter gave us an update, but the it was late in coming and our dinner was even later. I really like this place. I think they just had a bad night. My Mahi was the best! I booked on Open Table and we we're seated right away. Very nice. Will be back soon.
