Taste great, cost twice as much as original place in TJ, and they charge $5 for grilled onions when other places like Tacos El Gordon gives them for free.

Business response:

We understand your view on price. Our commitment is to use quality ingredients, careful preparation, and service that reflects an authentic Tijuana taco experience. Thank you for pointing this out — we’ll keep working to make every visit worth it. - Tacos El Franc Team

Came to this taco shop on a Saturday night. We got a variety of their tacos including cabeza, steak, adobada, and suadero. The steak and the tripa lacked flavor and overall had a mushy consistency, thanks to the beans they add to their tacos. Instead of elevating them, the sauces only made the texture worse. It was like eating a wet napkin drenched in salsa. Honestly, Taco Bell could do better. Not to completely diss this place, the adobada was the only decent one. If you have to get something, I'd stick with that. The ser... read more

Business response:

We’re always open to honest feedback, it helps us improve. But when a review compares us to Taco Bell more than it talks about our food, it’s pretty clear it’s not coming from a genuine guest. Our tacos are made fresh daily with real ingredients, slow-cooked meats, and house-made salsas. Which is exactly why our regulars keep coming back. For anyone reading this, don’t just take our word for it (or this review’s). Come try for yourself and taste the difference.

Excited to finally try after so much hype but was disappointed by the horrible service. Never received our entire order....brought it to the servers attention after 20 min of waiting....they were brought out and tacos where wrong...waited another 30 min before asking for them to remove from the bill paid and left. Will not return to eat.

Business response:

We’re truly sorry to read this. Service should always match the quality of the taco, and this time we fell short. Thank you for letting us know — we’re already taking notes to make sure it doesn’t happen again. If you’d like to continue the conversation, please call (619) 900-7696 so we can follow up directly.

I was really hyped for this place after hearing so many good reviews, so we went all in and ordered about seven different tacos. The steak was decent, seasoned okay, but the beans really threw me off--they overpowered the meat. Maybe that's a Tijuana style thing, but personally I didn't like it. The cabeza had a nice chew and was charred well, though I can't say if that's totally authentic since I've never been to Mexico 7/10. The tripa wasn't my favorite--it felt too soggy compared to other places where it's crispier and c... read more

Business response:

We’d like to clarify some important details for anyone reading this. The original review incorrectly stated that our tacos were $7 each. This is not true — our average taco is $4.65. After we addressed this, the reviewer updated their comment on 9/3/25. We work hard to provide authentic flavors, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. That’s why so many of our guests return again and again — and we’re deeply grateful for their continued support. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit, enjoy, and share kind word... read more

The standard for tacos in San Diego seems to be Tacos El Gordo. El Franc is not as good, or bad, as Tacos El Gordo.

Business response:

Thanks for stopping by! We’ll keep working so your next bite feels like a five-star taco.

The tacos itself are a 3/5 the adobada ones weren't that great just basic but their asada tacos are really good. That's the only reason they have a 1 star from me Just went there today their service is HORRIBLE. Let me tell you we get there and sit down at 6:51pm and around 7:03 they bring the food to us but it was incorrect not what we ordered so the guy takes the food back, then another different employee brings us back another order it was incorrect...we tell the waiter what we had ordered and we asked them to bring the c... read more

We went on labor day 2025 minutes after 11 am. We all order our food and the the food was served in parts we watched each other eating while waiting for the entire order. We also asked for 5 small plates and the attendant delivered dirty plates. I checked each one. The appeared that were used by the previous people in our table. I requested to speak to manager and my complaint was not addressed how it should of been addressed. No discount was added or an apology. I shared to manager this not the eatery I expected and wi... read more

Business response:

Your review could not be more far from the truth. Claiming we use dirty plates for anyone asking for extra plates is wildly insane. I don’t know who sent you. But this is not accurate.

HOLY MOLY ..... They are pricey. Asada - no flavor. Over cooked. Adobada - it's ok. Could barely taste it because it was consumed with salsa. Quesadilla - good. Very disappointed you have to pay for grilled onions and pepper. This should be complementary. I think it cost as much, if not more than a taco. Fantastic customer service though.

Business response:

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We apologize if you were disappointed during your visit. We are always striving to provide a 5 star experience. We hope to provide your with a better experience in the future.
