Super disappointed. Nothing like the TJ location, the meat they're using must be the lowest grade possible. Ordered 4 tacos de asada and got nothing but unchewable nerves in every bite.

Business response:

Hola Phillip! This shouldn’t have happened. Please let me know when you would like to come back and I will take care of you personally. Robe

Trash service waited 40m for tacos and a fork ................................................................................ Taco Bell better

Business response:

Texmex and our Tijuana-style tacos are completely different—something for every craving. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a thoughtful review! — Tacos El Franc Team

Shocking that they sell you the chiles and grilled onions for $5. Asada tacos are good, Adobada tacos are not. You spend $70+ on tacos and can't get a plate of chiles and onions. Not to compare but other taco company's do it better. Poor customer service and management.

Business response:

We appreciate the time you took to write your review. We take every comment seriously, including the most critical ones, as they help us continue growing and refining our offerings.

Tacos El Franc located in National City at Plaza Bonita Westfield Mall, parking is abundant. I heard so much hype about this place! People reporting that they put Tacos El Gordo to shame...I DID NOT HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE AT ALL! Customer service was amazing! Their work flow is a lot better than Tacos El G (gotta give them that) but, quality of tacos as far as their meat flavors and flavor of sauces...TACOS EL GORDO got them beat hands down!!! We ordered: Jamaica - delish Horchata - too much cinnamon Adobada fries - fries t... read more

Business response:

Elizabeth, while you mentioned positives like our strong service and workflow, your review violates Yelp’s own content guidelines by repeatedly promoting a so-called competitor by name. Reviews are meant to reflect your direct experience with our restaurant, not serve as marketing for another business. That shifts your comments from genuine feedback into biased comparison. For our community: Tacos El Franc has been serving authentic Tijuana-style tacos for over 50 years, and in Tijuana we’ve already proven ourselves by surpa... read more

The hype truly hyped right over my head with this place. The carne asada tacos were very tough and chewy. The service was ok but felt they were understaffed so you had to ask for things multiple times. If it's not a warm day good luck sitting outside. Can get a little windy.

Business response:

Gina, your comments don’t reflect an honest experience with our restaurant. @if it’s not a good day good luck seating outside 85 can get windy” is not a true review. That can literally happen anywhere in the planet. Don’t forget this is in San Diego County, considered to have the best weather in the world. Claiming our outdoor seating is “windy and uncomfortable” is simply not possible — our Plaza Bonita location has only been open during the summer months with temperatures consistently above 75°F. We welcome constructive... read more

This is bad robe. I don't appreciate what you said. Time will tell. Some people don't agree with you. Continue with what you got. I know personally. My family and my friends will not ever try to be in your horrible service taco shop. Ever! Your comment says it all what you service means. Your reputation was ruined by your staff. We are the costumer that was exited to eat at your business. The reason I asked for 5 five plates was to share some Carne asada fries from your menu. I asked what you guys add to them. The lady ... read more

Business response:

Your review could not be more far from the truth. Claiming we use dirty plates for anyone asking for extra plates is wildly insane. I don’t know who sent you. But this is not accurate. You can try to add whatever you want. We still know your intent. It’s crazy that you’re so interested in hurting our reputation.

Taste great, cost twice as much as original place in TJ, and they charge $5 for grilled onions when other places like Tacos El Gordon gives them for free.

Business response:

We understand your view on price. Our commitment is to use quality ingredients, careful preparation, and service that reflects an authentic Tijuana taco experience. Thank you for pointing this out — we’ll keep working to make every visit worth it. - Tacos El Franc Team

Came to this taco shop on a Saturday night. We got a variety of their tacos including cabeza, steak, adobada, and suadero. The steak and the tripa lacked flavor and overall had a mushy consistency, thanks to the beans they add to their tacos. Instead of elevating them, the sauces only made the texture worse. It was like eating a wet napkin drenched in salsa. Honestly, Taco Bell could do better. Not to completely diss this place, the adobada was the only decent one. If you have to get something, I'd stick with that. The ser... read more

Business response:

We’re always open to honest feedback, it helps us improve. But when a review compares us to Taco Bell more than it talks about our food, it’s pretty clear it’s not coming from a genuine guest. Our tacos are made fresh daily with real ingredients, slow-cooked meats, and house-made salsas. Which is exactly why our regulars keep coming back. For anyone reading this, don’t just take our word for it (or this review’s). Come try for yourself and taste the difference.

Excited to finally try after so much hype but was disappointed by the horrible service. Never received our entire order....brought it to the servers attention after 20 min of waiting....they were brought out and tacos where wrong...waited another 30 min before asking for them to remove from the bill paid and left. Will not return to eat.

Business response:

We’re truly sorry to read this. Service should always match the quality of the taco, and this time we fell short. Thank you for letting us know — we’re already taking notes to make sure it doesn’t happen again. If you’d like to continue the conversation, please call (619) 900-7696 so we can follow up directly.
