I read this was Michelin Guide recommended so had to try it. I really struggled with giving it 4 stars over 5 as it was really close. I think now that I know exactly what I like here, next time the visit will be 5 stars. My favorite item of the night- campechano taco (tripe & grilled steak). It was so flavorful and juicy but not overly wet/sauced. I also really loved lengua (the meat) but felt my lengua quesadilla overall was too wet and did not have enough cheese. I was thinking 3.5 but rounding up to 4 stars because TACOS. I waited a minute before checking them out. Dined on a Friday afternoon and were seated immediately. We sat at the bar and ordered our tacos. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the space is large with various areas for seating. I had the: All tacos ordered with everything. Food: Carne Asada Taco - a bit salty and didn't have that really smokey taste and smell to it. it was somewhat missing flavor to the meat? it also had beans! it wasn't bad it was still decent but i've definitely had better. Food tasty. Ordered 1 mulita and it was enough to share it. Lots of carne asada meat , cheese , and guacamole, all the fixings and wonderful tasting corn tortillas. Service needs help or better system for to go orders. The hostess took our order to go, and she didn't check the kitchen or behind her when the waiter set our order on shelf behind her. this place tops EVERY taco place i've ever had. they do not play with the tacos and load them up. the fries were the BEST asada fries and i dream about them; they're crunchy and soft in the middle i would say i wish they added more crema other than that still fire. the only thing they need to add is a to go bc it's a dine in only. other than that 100/10.

Was anticipating trying this spot out for awhile and I finally went last night. I ordered the two chicken tacos and 1 carne asada. I enjoyed the tacos while I was there. But then I got home and had excruciating pain in my stomach. As I sat at the restaurant I did notice multiple employees going back and forth to the back. one employee making herself a snack. If you love ordering food the way you want it, this ain't Burger King--you definitely can't have it your way at Tacos El Frank's in Plaza Bonita Mall. At Tacos El Frank's, every order is a mystery meal. The last three times I've gone, they've managed to mess up the exact same order. (1/5) I've visited the Plaza Bonita location multiple times, and every single visit they've managed to mess up my order. My request couldn't be simpler: a taco with cheese, meat, and guacamole. Somehow, that seems to be an impossible task. The food itself has potential, but the repeated mistakes from the cashiers and servers completely ruin the experience. riday afternoon my wife and I set out on date day. We are in search of our favorite taco spot. We are from south texas "RGV" and when we go and visit there is not a location that doesn't have good tacos! I will start off with the location it has nice setting inside and outside.
