We've been to Ted's a few times. The food is good and it's a fun, retro environment. But the service is always slow and often unreliable: orders don't get handled correctly, the server forgets things you ask for, and, in general, you wait a lot. At first, we thought this was a matter of the place being new. But more than a year later, service is still sluggish. Considering that Ted's is on the expensive side, you'd expect better.

Extremely over-rated restaurant. Great concept but falls short on implementation: mediocre food, noise impairs conversation - and it was a slow night. Most upsetting was the berating our waiter received from his manager in front of us for an infraction we did not even notice. But we did notice the manager's mishandling of a workforce situation - disrespectful to the waiter and to us.

Aside from the lack of management (or the manager that was more concerned with her cell phone than expediting) we experienced service that was clearly very concerned about being overloaded and turning the table instead of providing the best service possible. The food was lackluster at best, the highlights being the grasshopper milkshake, crisp onion rings and cornbread. The $11 martini was served in an extremely small glass, the chicken was screaming for a sauce, and to us, the only way you could describe the tomato soup, ma... read more

I just met a friend for dinner at Ted's. The hostess was very helpful, and she seated me even though my friend was still parking. The guy who waited on us was friendly, but I think that he really oversold the brisket. That sandwich was about the same quality as you would get at a low-end steak house, but it was about twice the price. The brisket lacked flavor, and it was heavily sauced. The bread was soggy and also unremarkable. I asked to swap the cole slaw for a side salad - which was also pretty sad. However, my friend ha... read more

I was pretty disappointed. They list an unlimited pasta special on the menu but don't actually offer it.

The decor was great, a nod to 30's and 40's architecture and style. The service was eager but unpolished. There needs to be some training of host and waitstaff. The food was good, basic takes on diner and homestyle fare, well executed. We admired the pastry case on the way in, and then were told by our waiter he could not bring us any of the items in the case for dessert, per management policy. Really? The place seems to be a work in progress, but would give it another try.
