Had an 8pm reservation. When we arrived, it took 5 minutes for someone to come to the host stand. It appeared to be the manager. Was informed it would be a few minutes to get the table ready. We went to the bar and waited 10 minutes for 1 of the bartenders to take our order. Finally, after 26 minutes the "host" said he'll seat us. Took us to the table without menus; we had to get up and go get them. The server was very nice. The best part of the meal was the bread and appetizer. Probably a one and done for this restaurant.
We have been going to this restaurant for almost 15 years. We live local. I don’t know if it’s a new owner or chef, but the food is horrible. The menu is different. The fish and chicken are dry and the scallops are mushy. The food and sauces have no taste and if it does have some flavor, the spices do not compliment the type of food you are eating. Lately we have dined there 4 times in the last 3 months and have now decided, this is no longer our favorite restaurant. Very disappointed! Terrible and do not recommend.
Disappointing to say the least. First, we were disappointed by the atmosphere, if you think you are going to get an upscale atmosphere, think again. The waiter we had had no sense of humor and acted like he did not want to be there, the lamb chops and drinks were good, but the entrees were not all that. Restaurant score is a 76 but we decided to go in anyways...the burger definitely tastes like a 76 restaurant score. I'll pass.
We were definitely disappointed, dinner was only “OK” The shrimp appetizer was good, the fried feta was average, brussels sprouts, average, and the chocolate bruschetta was the worst value ever. It was $16 and it was too small pieces which is ridiculous. And what’s even worse is we complained about it and they took 20% off which is just in bad taste in my opinion. Terra Terroir is a hidden gem. I celebrated my birthday with some wonderful friends and this was the best choice. The service started as we walked through the restaurant to our table. Where can you go and be greeted by ALL the staff? To be welcomed in such a manner was truly exceptional! When we first sat down at our table, she noticed that the two wine glasses were dirty. Initially, I did see lipstick stains about a third of the way around my glass. However, it wasn’t until later that I noticed her glass had dried wine in the bottom of it. When I was served a glass of water, there was something brown and fuzzy, floating in it, that I did not notice until I had it stuck to my lips. I believe that came out of the water pitcher. The filet was undercooked. Also it was like they ran out of mashed potatoes and served the steak with the bag instant potatoes. Also the mashed potatoes that were served with the steak and chicken were cold.
Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu was limited but balanced to appeal to general preferences. Good ambience but uncomfortable seating and cold patio. We asked to be moved closer to a fireplace and were accommodated. Food was disappointingly mediocre and didn’t nearly rise to the price charged regarding quality, preparation, taste, or portion size served. A disappointing first experience that did not live up to the ratings that led us to try it.
