This place is a $money$ making scheme. They provide ZERO aftercare planning support unless you agree to their own program. Conveniently they wait until the last minute to even begin discussing a post residential plan. The second you mention the name of a "competing" facility in the area you will receive NO calls or emails back. Plan B is always to "extend care at The Camp" , no kidding - more time = more $money$. My family member attended this program for 30 days and never even saw a licensed psychiatrist. You would think ... read more

The "holistic approach" what a joke. What that means is that none of the intelligent people who's faces are on the website have anything to do with the actual clients. They hand these "techs" and counselors a stack of paper which is passed around and it has some info on behaviors or triggers or something to kill time. My case manager Glenn was awesome though for real. Sue lied to my face twice and Jeff, well his position should be held by a smarter man. Didn't get to see Psychiatrist til beginning of my 3rd week. A tiny fra... read more

I'm taking the time now as horrible as I feel from Detoxing to write this. Today I called to see about getting admitted to The Camp for detoxing from using marijuana after 20 years and the last with the last years being everyday all day. I'm also """BIPOLAR 1""" and I'll explain in a min why that is in all caps. I called and spoke Stephanie who was very nice and we talked for about 10-15 min as she took down all my information then said she would need to transfer me to someone else to speak about the intake portion assess... read more

Dear Potential Clients!! This place is very deceiving and I would recommend you truly find an alternative treatment centers! We were all set to have my son be admitted to the Camp and my wife made all the arrangement with their Director of Admissions. According to her she clearly defined to my wife of 39 years that payment in full was expected before admissions. I mention my length of time being married to illustrate my next point! Traveled 280 + miles with my son to this place in Santa Cruz, fully expecting to be tra... read more

No good. Runs like a machine. In the helping profession you must treat people with love, empathy and compassion if you are to get anywhere with patients. This place is run by a giant corporation and it's about numbers. Save your money and find a place that takes a max of 6 or 8 with individualized care. I got lost through the cracks at the camp and received 0 treatment. Now with 8 years of sobriety and a level head I see I was scammed. Good Luck!

If there we zero stars I would choose that option. There are drugs going around this place! There is clearly some sort of security issue. My boyfriend is there now and he is serious about getting clean and sober and he is a week and a few days from finishing the program. Today he was offered the exact drug that he is addicted to. He is dealing with the situation with the rehab center now, but this is still an outrage. Where is the security? How can an addict feel safe and recover properly if the very thing he or she just got... read more

My son went to Camp Recovery in Scotts Valley CA and our family is not pleased. The camp does not make sure drugs are not brought into their facility. A new resident brought in drugs and my son along with a few others all joined in using while they were supposed to be detoxing. My son was kicked out, however the man who brought the drugs into the recovery center was allowed to stay as his family had just paid the camp a lot of money, whereas my son only had four days left to complete his 30 days. Very hypocritical and wr... read more

I wrote a review, which was up for 2 days. It was not complimentary and now it's missing. I hope it cost the camp some money to have it removed. I convinced my alcoholic sister to get treatment at the Camp. They have allowed her to ban family members from family therapy. They do not work a 12 step program. The alcoholic ends up with a nice stress-free vacation. If all they teach is white knuckle sobriety what's gonna happen after release and the person is back in the same environment with the same people they can't de... read more

My family pulled together and we drove my daughter 357 miles, 6 hours straight to get her there. Not 5 hrs into the facility she was using the phone and broke down the members/counselors into allowing her to leave. When I was told she would be placed in the behavioral unit, since shes a runner and needed psychiatric help also. I was told she would NOT be able to contact anyone, no phones for 14 days. If she wanted to leave, according to her contract she signed, she needed to request to leave in writing and would be held for ... read more
