I went to the Camp in January of 2007. I was lost, I was lonely, I was needing another way. My life was unmanageable and I couldn't look myself in the mirror without looking at the person I was, while straining to see the person I once used to be. When I first got to the Camp I was welcomed by a staff who didn't judge me. I was welcomed into a community of people who were there to support me. I was allowed to support myself and not be ashamed of who I was. Every day now when I look in the mirror, I see the man I am t... read more

Look, here's the thing about recovery. If you don't want it, you don't get it. Im a youngish adult and went to the Camp 2 years four and a half months ago and guess what? Yeah, I'm still good. Clean and happy. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE CAMP, I'D PROBABLY BE DEAD. DEFINITELY IN PRISON. Period. THEY ALSO HAVE FREE AFTERCARE FOR LIFE! LIFE! FREE! I was as bad as it gets and they gave me the tools i needed to make a new life possible, I will always love that place and what it did for me as will my entire family. Worth every penny and... read more

Camp Recovery saved my life. Just over 4 years ago I came into the program - battered and beaten by drugs and alcohol. I am alive and well and SO much better off today than I ever would have believed possible. I love the Camp and visit my "friends" there often. Treatment works if the person who is in treatment wants it - simple as that. If you don't stay clean - don't blame the treatment center - blame the disease and the fact that the person who relapses didn't work their program after they left. It works if you work ... read more

OK, now I am going to make this clear from the start and save you the time from trying to figure it out. I fully support any type of drug treatment facility and I do not feel that enough is done in our state to help people out with addiction problems. It is pathetic to see that we have come so far over the past couple of hundred years and still can not grasp the idea that we sometimes must help others in order to make their life better, instead of watching them slowly kill themselves. Addiction is a disease as has been prove... read more

This place is awful. They allow folks to miss/leave group early, wonder around the facility all hours of the night, take their meds at 1am, and the list goes on and on. There was a patient who left early, telling them that they were going to hang themselves. Luckily, they were not successful, but why was that person not immediately 5150ed? I have called 3 times to talk to someone and no one answers the phone! I have never seen a more poorly run recovery facility. Run, don't walk to another recovery facility! If I coul... read more

Stay away...so poorly managed. For over a year I have been writing and calling Camp Recovery to get a bill that includes the appropriate codes for the care they provided. They continue to send a bill with only a dollar amount they want me to pay. I need an itemized, "normal" bill to submit to my insurer for partial reimbursement. I have told them until I get an itemized bill I won't pay. They keep sending the same 'balance due'. Because Camp Recovery refuses to respond to my continued requests I am now considering small c... read more

If you're interested in being in an environment where staff caseloads are too overloaded to allow for meaningful work this is the place! Setting is beautiful but in my experience, drugs were missed in numerous searches, campers routinely left campus, sneaking over the hill at night to have sex or get loaded. Because of their despicably low pay for the wonderful medical and tech staff, turnover is constant. I felt unsafe and when my concerns were voiced, only my incredible case manager, Cindy, advocated for me. I had legitim... read more

This place has many confusions. Meetings get canceled at the last minute and know one to replace to carry on meetings. Family visitation days are a huge miscommunication with the staff!!! For the money you pay to bring your Loved ones in, they don't seem to have a solid structure. We were told that visitors were welcomed on Sunday the 1st. I was just told that it's canceled till next week. It took 5 days for them to find out that there was a miscommunication upon the staff. I would not recommend this place at all.

Don't send you child here if you want them to live. The director is horrible!!! The staff is horrible. They took the money from my insurance company, kicked him out after 9 days. Called me saying I owed them more money. These people are evil. I actually give them zero stars.
