Here are my two cents, for what it's worth. I entered into a one month contract with 'The Camp' on November 2nd, 2008 for the sum of $10,000.00. I had recently fallen into a deep depression and was coping with that depression through alcohol. My children felt that I needed to go into 'rehab' to get me out of the addiction loop that I had fallen into, and 'The Camp' was the closest facility to where we lived in the Bay Area. My children were told that I would have a private room or cabin. When I arrived I was escorted up a... read more

stayed quiet about my experience at The Camp for years. I was 19 went I went to the camp and I am now 23. It took a long time to process what happened there and if I was in the wrong. In some aspects yes I was - but I was a child struggling with addiction and I needed help. I am now clean and sober but that was from absolutely no help from the camp. While I was there I was put on a psych med which I had a bad reaction to. I ran to the nurses office from the "detox cabin" which by the way why should someone have to trek a mil... read more

I have had a horrible experience as the parent of a son who has a life threatening disease...called heroin addiction. I DID NOT READ ANY REVIEWS in regards to The Camp....my HUGE MISTAKE. My daughter (who is only 17 yrs. old, sweet and very kind...went in with me to take a few things to my son. I was spoken to EXTREMELY RUDELY not only by the lady at the desk, but twice as rudely, unprofessionally and unwelcoming by a staff member named Tonya! I believe she is in the finance division. Once my daughter and I got back home and... read more

Extremelly disorganized and unprofessional place. My nephew stayed there for a week. I live an hour and a half from this place. The first day he arrived I mailed him two cards from myself and his cousin to show our love and support for him. I made a photo collage containing photos that I took the time to dig up from when the cousins were little. The cards must have arrived while he was still there, but he never received either! Now he went to a new rehab facility and he never got them! I called The Camp and they s... read more

So disappointed. A son with ODD and drug use is not going to get all excited to stay during the admissions process. We had him talked into it 3 times and staff talked him out of it 3 times. State of CA, your parents can't force you to stay bla bla bla..... Nice move staff, hope we don't loose him before someone will take him.

This review is for the San Jose Outpatient program. I found the nine weeks to be incredibly frustrating and if anything counter-productive to maintaining my sobriety. I managed to graduate the program because it was cheap and the other patients on their own formed a nice support system, but the coordinator, Ginger, was so absolutely inept at her job that I can't believe no one has fired her yet. She's very egotistical, and every talking point HAS to circle back around to her. And if someone is telling a story that she hasn'... read more

Sorry, and sad, and empty handed. Where I had hoped to feel grateful and glad and full of hope. But isn't that the way it goes? The grove of second or third-growth redwoods fill a dankish dell or combe. That's it. My counselor was in the dankest cabin in the dankest section of the very small dell. I liked that fact, although if you do go to the Camp, Frances is the worst counselor and she will tell you so. "I wish I had the 'skills' of the other counselors" she said. She says: "You already have the skills you need t... read more

My son was in rehab at The Camp and having problems with interpersonal relationships. He requested to go to another facility so they highly recommended Sober Living by the Sea in Newport Beach, a very expensive rehab. What they failed to tell us,is that they own Sober Living by the Sea! Obviously it was in their best interest to keep my son in their system since this is a huge money making venture. What they didn't tell us is how high the relapse rate is at Sober Living by the Sea. After my son relapsed, we got him into anot... read more

This place is a joke. I have serious medical conditions, and decided to get off the pain medications, the nurses do not care, the main guy is a jerk, they don't let you rest during withdrawl you're forced to go to class sweating and uncomfortable. I was forced to leave after throwing up blood and having seizures. Yet they had a doctor, which you go see with 7 other people. It's an all day trip. I had things stolen, I had no time to think about myself. It was all about them. They're ways and what they want. They took me off o... read more
