1) Management doesnt respond to concerns unless it's in their interest. Does not respond to emails or phone calls, however lower level personnel usually respond. 2) Management appears to prioritize financial objectives over the best interest of the occupant. 3) The Memory Care Unit is horrible. It desperately needs to be updated with newer furniture as the existing decor looks like it was procured from a thrift store. 3) MC staff exhibited minimal interaction with the residents. Usually one person sitting in the back of the ... read more
I have to be honest - the initial experience was amazing - [name removed] (sales) was beyond kind & great at sales. The location, Rooms & balcony view was amazing. Beautiful landscape, and facility. Our Dad was happy to go there. And we thought it was the perfect location for him & his cat. However, after time went on, it became a significant challenge. Billing was often incorrect, made excuses for random charges not applicable, extra fees assigned. Shuttle was seldom available, no driver, or broken down & my sister consiste... read more
My husband was at the Colonnade because he has dementia and could not be left alone at home. I had gone to the hospital, was sent to rehab where I got COVID, went back to the hospital, then to a lock-down COVID ward, then back to the first rehab "to be discharged". When I got there, they wouldn't let me leave. I sat in the lobby for two days to put pressure on them to sign the papers so that I could leave. During this, the absolute worst month and a half of my life, I was dehumanized, screamed at by CNA's (they screamed at e... read more
The care was absolutely horrible. I live in a different state than my loved one. My loved one was supposed to be getting physical therapy, and wasn't getting the therapy they needed. In addition they lost lots of weight and this wasn't planned. The community let me know that my loved one was ready to go home. I received a phone call and had to fly down to get them out of the community The Colonnade was horrible and they fought me on getting money back to me since I was taking my loved out of the community. There were seve... read more
Trash is not emptied unless I ask for it. Room has not been cleaned. Remote for TV missing. ( Reappears the next day ... miraculously. ) Boxed phone is missing. My sister had to give her a shower.(I am paying extra for Becket Lake to shower her) Clothes were not washed until I asked for it late Friday evening when I brought her back from a day out,
I just don't see what's to like, really. As expected with corporate mergers/buyouts, quality goes down and prices climb. Great job with spending money on the lobby carpeting and furniture, but no improvement on the quality of care including the food and staff. Staff members and residents are leaving in droves for reason. My mother has been here for 2.5 years and it's been very depressing for her to see what's happening. She will join the exodus this week. It's difficult for her to have to leave, but many of her friends have ... read more
We had some major difficulties at this community. There were issues with items going missing from my loved ones room, and I feel they did not handle their medication management service well. We moved our loved one to an different Emeritus facility, which is doing a much better job.
These Emeritus ones just look a little too nursing home-ish. I'm not sure about them.
My mom did not like this place at all. She found it to be subpar.
