My friend is a resident at The Colonnade and everything has been good. I would recommend this facility to others.
The Colonnade was a godsend for us. My mother was well cared for by the staff and happy to be there. Mom had a beautiful end in hospice after only 8 days of enrollment. The Colonnade nurse, [name removed], helped guide me in choosing a hospice, something I am grateful for. We choose Accent and were pleased with Mom's final days in their care.
Beautiful facility & grounds. Lots of windows, light, many rooms have fully screened in patios with views. Staff in general very kind. Offer shuttle services for appts & activities. Only down side (after the fact) was lack of coordination with sales staff, medical staff, & activity staff. Shared that this was available but after the "sale" part was done, none of the other care/or specific staff were introduced or had the opportunity to sit & understand the process, communication, or otherwise. The staff that I have interacted with have been helpful and friendly and determined that my mother have a good experience. The communication between the community and the family I found to be less than adequate. It would be really helpful to know when housekeeping comes in, when laundry day is and how we stay on top of these things, so my mother is not inconvenienced and family members don't find themselves doing laundry and changing the bed. The family like atmosphere, the ambiance as soon as you go in the door. We also love the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I witnessed a resident fall in the dining room and the response from the staff was outstanding. That makes me feel comfortable. I am a retired nurse. I am impressed with the nursing supervisor and the marketing person ( their names have escaped me). I am especially impressed with the receptionist. Our family had an in person tour with The Colonnade at Beckett Lake and we thought it was very nice but at the time we needed to move our loved one in, they had no vacancies.
My mother had to be placed there after being in the hospital and refusing to go into assisted living. It was kind of an emergency, and she had to be placed in memory care. Everyone involved could not have been more helpful. They were amazing. My mother lives in Florida by herself, and me and my brother and sister live in the Chicago area. Our family had an in person tour with The Colonnade at Beckett Lake and we thought the tour experience and the community was excellent, but there was another community that felt more like home, and we liked the look of the building, the price and the location.
It is obvious from the first moment you enter into the Beckett Lake Clearwater lobby that the staff respect and really care for each other, and for the residents who live there. They are always patient, kind, compassionate, and professional. When mom was first released from rehab, she was still a little fragile and her memory wasn't her usual.
