After enjoying a cocktail and delicious appetizers in the bar when they first opened, we decided to return for dinner with friends. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed a delightful evening in the main dining room. Delicious food and good service, and a highpoint was that we were able to converse without shouting. Always a big plus in my book!

We read about the revival and restoration of The Commodore in the Tribune and thought we'd give it a try prior to attending a show at the Orpheum. As it turns out, it will be a night to remember for years to come. The atmosphere was PERFECT .........the restoration work was beautifully done and we felt as if Fitzgerald himself would be walking in at any moment and perhaps dine next to us! The unique cocktails set the stage for a fabulous dining experience. It is obvious that the chef and kitchen staff are well 'seasoned'....... read more

Beautifully restored (we ate here in the 70s). Food and service were good but not great. Perhaps a little too bright--lower lighting may have made it more romantic. Diners not generally dressed for a special occasion place, which is what it looks like. A little disappointing, but couldn't put our finger on a specific thing. We will probably try it again.

Wanted to see th recently re-opened Commodore which is vastly expanded from the small Art Deco bar in the 70s. Lovely dining room, but menu needs some work, and the wine list is quite limited. I expect it will get better and become more difficult to get in, but we enjoyed our evening.

anniversary night out and it was the perfect choice. beautiful restaurant, tremendous service with a real personal touch, and noise level was just right....busy, but easy to converse. some history made the menu worth really reading. great experience, highly recommend it!

The Commodore has such a history and the restaurant is still swanky and special. Our party of four had different appetizers, entrees and we shared desserts. Every plate was delicious and the service was impeccable. Great people watching too. Dress up , take your favorite person/people and make it a special evening! Already making reservations for 8 of us in January!

We were so impressed when we entered the restaurant (although watch out for the mirrors, especially after a cocktail). This is an incredibly beautiful restaurant. The inner bar was very cool and hopping. The main dining room was quiet and classy. The cocktail menu was fun to read but all cocktails but The Fitzgerald disappointed the table. The meals were plain - the cod was bland and the rabbit was overcooked and dry. The pork was delicious though. We all shared bites so we could rate the food as a group. The deviled eggs we... read more
