Food was good. Very noisy. Hard to hear the conversations. Menu was falling apart. Tried to fix it and put the pages back in the binders. Not a good first impression when the menu looks like it is old.

I had the pork entree and it was GREAT . Our friends had the chicken, the rabbit and the steak, they all gave their dinners excellent reviews. We will be back in the summer to dine outdoors and we are looking forward to it.

Newly renovated and buzzing with business on a recent Friday evening, The Commodore was an exquisite venue for dinner. The fried risotto appetizer was heaven, and the pork entree a medley of flavors. The abundance of choices for wines and signature cocktails made it really difficult to choose just one (or two.) Our server was attentive and engaging, as well as informed and helpful. We only had one minor complaint. We had a 7pm reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. I'm hoping that was a singular occurrenc... read more

I had a great drink, a Sidecar, but the food wasn't that flavorful. The desert, a brown sugar cake, was dry and tasteless. I was surprised.

I have now been here twice. The energy, ambiance, service and food are excellent. It is a long overdue place of elegance and class for St. Paul. The price of the food and drinks are an outstanding value for the quality.

All five of us had an exceptional "catch-up" night out. Everything was fabulous from the moment we walked in the door. Decor glamorous and pictures so interesting, capturing a time gone by in our wonderful St. Paul. Wish we had more time and convenience to look at them all! Lounge and bar area incredible and comfortable. Intersting layout in dining area, different levels and another area for private parties. Food was beyond delicious! The lobster deviled eggs were a recommendation that was an exceptional choice! Everything f... read more

So lucky to have this great new spot in our midst! The feeling is somewhere in time -- '20s, '30s. The food is all today.

Don't miss it. It's the rebirth of the Jazz Age. And it's not just Scottie and Zelda, either. Identifying all those beautiful actresses is a challange. The do need a pianist, soo. I'd recommend Steven C. Anderson. What a repertoire he has.

We had a very nice special dinner in the beautifully restored, historic Commodore. Soup and appetizers were outstanding. Dinner (Rabbit for him, Duck for me) was excellent. Service was just right. Wine by the glass was moderately priced. One thing to note is that one is to check in for dining in the first (bar) room one enters although this is two rooms away from the dining room.
