We love coming to The Dune House while on the island. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the wait is generally quick. The food always comes out hot and flavorful; this visit was no exception. My husband ordered fish tacos loaded with fresh, delicious fish. I went with the chicken sandwich in a grilled wrap instead of my usual order of fish tacos, and WOW! There was plenty of chicken, cheese, and bacon with a mild chipotle sauce. It was so good that I could eat it every day for a year!

Nice place right on the beach with only a dune between it and ocean, good beer on tap. Nice staff.

In August, my wife had a suprise birthday party for me at the Dunes House. My wife's initial contact was with Sarah, Catering Manager, who could not have been more caring and professional and helped Ann put this together. Without a doubt the VERY best beach bar & grill on the entire island. Best views and best bartenders Sea breeze & salt air abound!
I was a bit perplexed on how to rate this place. What I can say is that the food is the least of the several great things about it. First. LOCATION! Can't beat the beachfront bar. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. Our dog got a bowl of water first thing. The beer is ice cold. Now the food. Day 1 I had a burger. Decidedly average. Day 2 fish tacos. A bit better but still just fair. I gave the place 4 stars because it's a fun place to hang out, drink and snack. Just don't expect anything more than average bar food.
Bought a$20 cocktail at the bar no seating. Sat down in patio area and was told to leave area. For people eating only. Ate here before and they have good food and drinks. Was put off by hostess s attitude. Was actually considering ordering food but won't now.

This is my favorite bar in Hilton Head! The food is wonderful, especially the fish tacos. The service is so friendly and efficient, and specially Michael! He plays the best music! I love this place!
Not good. Walked up at 8:01 Pm and said they were done for night. Pretty trash in a touris hot spot before it is even dark. Won't spend my money there ever again!!!! Get there before grandma and grandpa go to bed!!!!! Wow!!!!

Hello Steve. We certainly apologize that we could not accommodate you, but our hours are 11am-8pm this time of year for multiple reasons. Weather also effects this at times and causes us to shut down early, but not sure if that was the case during your visit. In any case, we are sorry for any inconvenience that we may have caused you.
