Great place, great food - good service Never disappointed- always bring guests that visit us here
We walked to the Dunes House from the nearby Marriott Hotel for lunch. We joined the waitlist using the Yelp app, but when we arrived at the restaurant, they said that feature should not have been turned on, and we were added to the "regular" waitlist. The wait was short, and we were seated at a beautiful patio table in just a few minutes. I ordered a half-pound of Peel n' Eat Shrimp (and had plenty leftover!) and the Chips n' Dips trio to share. My husband had the Dunes House Fish Tacos with mahi-mahi. It was a solid lunch ... read more
Burger buns fall apart very easy long wait time upsets stomach I recommend a better choice of bun and patty

This is for sure one of those places that you stop at out of convenience or for drinks with food as an after thought. It was conveniently located for us, so we stopped in for lunch. The menu is very basic. I got the grilled chicken tacos because it sounded like the best option to me. My tacos were cold and lacked flavor. The side that came with them was the cheap tri-color chips you buy at the store with a little thing of salsa. It was very cheap/concession food-esque. My husband had the shrimp quesadilla. He's not picky, bu... read more

Hello Alyssa. We apologize that you did not enjoy your recent visit to the Dunes House and would love to discuss this further with you if you can find the time. If so, please reach out to Christina at your earliest convenience at 843-686-9646. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
Outside seating right off the beach. Mixed drinks were good. Small menu. Food was ok, nothing to rave about. Fish and shrimp tacos come with chips and salsa, which would have been more appetizing had it been made in house instead of coming out of a jar. Maybe in non-covid days, things would have been a bit better but for a last minute dinner out, it was acceptable.
Meh. The food was on par with a cheap company picnic. Our waitress, though incredibly friendly, admitted she mixed my wife's drink poorly, which was confirmed by the watered down, flavorless mess in the glass (no offer to correct the problem). Nice to sit on the beach, but the prices and low quality food leaves much to be desired.
Great spot on the beach with okay food. Got Blackened Mahi tacos. Fish was fresh but the tortilla, lettuce, cheese was nothing more than what you would make yourself at home. Chips and salsa as the side and salsa came straight out of a jar. Again, not terrible food but not anything I would make a special trip back to eat.
Staying in Hilton head as we do several times per year. It's January. Temp is 50. Not exactly a time of year or temp where people flock to the beach Security guard Barney would not let me spend the roll of cash in my pocket at the dunes house because we were not staying at the local property Wow. The Marriott must be making more money that Elon Musk. Totally lame
Business response:
Hello Jeff. Because the Dunes House is located within the confines of the North Gate of Palmetto Dunes, a guest pass is needed to enter the property in order to protect the privacy of the home owners. We apologize for this inconvenience, but this is under the jurisdiction of the Property Owner's Association and not the Resort.
Two stars for ambiance. The food was not good. I am very disappointed after reading previous Yelp reviews and tips. Come on Yelpers, we can do better than promoting a poor food experience. The grouper was extremely fishy. The mini burgers were over cooked and were more like hockey pucks than food. My daughter even got sick after trying to eat her food. Drinks were good and service was okay but the food was really bad. Come here for drinks and a beach view and go to dinner somewhere else. You will be glad you did.
