The Edge in Greenwich is gross. The machines area filthy, I spoke to management and they did nothing about it. Members are ignored. LA Fitness is a better facility and management is on top of it.
Wanted to give it a try. Boot camp class was really bad and boring. Front desk people couldn't answer one question. I wish I'd stayed at LA Fitness. This gym looks like its a scam.

The Edge in Norwalk, CT. I was a member for about a year. Decent place for the money, although I rarely used it. I am in the process of cancelling membership now. They make it quite difficult to cancel, and this has soured my experience with them. I called them and they said you can come in in person to cancel. I came in in person and they said - "sorry - you cannot come in in person - you need to write an email - with your contract number - to an organization called ABC Financial in order to cancel." All equipment that you may want is there and ton of people who want to use it too. I'll speak specifically to the canceling procedures. I left the Hamden area in May of 2017 and had to pay all the way to January 2018- including the $50 fee for god knows what in December 2017. I called, emailed, called, emailed... it's a stupid gym- they asked to provide my mortgage documents to prove that I moved. Ridiculous.

For the love of God and your sanity don't go there. These people are untrustworthy and scammers. They lock you into for two years with their weird contract and when you're time is up they charge you for leaving. The front desk people are idiots and don't know what they are talking about which they translate to their members and screw them Up. After yet another unproductive phone call with the staff at The Edge AND then a phone call to their outside billing company, I have STILL not been helped. Apparently the two entities do not communicate at all once they have signed you up for an unfair contract. PLEASE look up ABC Financial (the outside billing company) before signing with the Edge. Their business practices are deceitful.

The staff is very nice. But this gym is just over packed 24/7, very small, and dirty. I've never felt like I had any space when I came to workout.

Constantly disappointed with the facility. Staff is friendly enough, but the grounds itself needs more attention. It frustrates me to know I don't have a contract and pay a yearly 50$ "maintenance fee" but it doesn't improve the quality of the gym. Little things I notice are when equipment goes down it takes a long time to fix, certain pieces of equipment never get replaced (e.g lat pull down bar), the water fountain has been down since 3/17. Predatory contracts, hard to cancel. Require you to send in written notice? For a gym? automatic rollover to monthly billing after a 1 year contract is over, and still requiring 30 day notice? Find a place that doesn't hide all this foolishness in their contracts.
