WORST GYM EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE... I signed up for the membership and got COVID after three months so I was trying to cancel/freeze the membership. My COVID symptoms were extremely severe, resulting in fluid in my lungs, shortness of breath, dizziness, loss of appetite, and having bad anxiety to return to public/crowded spaces like a gym. I had a very bad experience with this Club. I have been going to this club not so long but I have been taking my daughter. I did Not have any problems taking her nor did the club. But yesterday when I took her they neglected to take care of my daughter because apparently they cannot take care of her in the afternoons if she is not 3 years of age when nobody had said anything the last times I took her. I would leave zero stars for customer service and staff if I could. DO NOT sign up for any training sessions. They charge you as they please, and do not let you cancel/refund. This is the only company I have ever written a public review online about, my experience was that bad with them.
DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!!!! Worst experience I've ever had!!!! Originally my girl friend and I signed up and we're told this is a month to month membership and if we were unhappy or didn't feel like this was the gym for us we could cancel at any time... we used the gym roughly 4 times before COVID hit. AVOID THIS GYM AT ALL COST. Yes, The Edge has shiny facilities. I, too, was seduced by the amenities on my first visit. However, that's where the good stuff ends. You might not think that a dishonest management team is that big of a problem. I myself read the horror stories here about The Edge and thought, "This won't happen to me. I am facing the exact same situation as Ian, or may be even worse. Due to COVID concerns, I have been calling the Manchester club every month since July to cancel the membership. They did not give me that option but just kept offering the option of putting monthly freeze on the account. COVID concerns were getting worse, so I kept calling for extending the freeze every month and every time asked for cancellation option. It did not work and only freeze was offered. I tried to cancel my membership as I will not be exercising in COVID conditions (face masks etc) and they told me I could not cancel. When I pushed to speak to a manager they routed me to call "abc financial" which sounds like a joke but apparently is a thing. I'm dealing with an issue with them. Told me my membership was cancelled. I get my credit card Statement today 8/11/20 and they charged 158.57 on my card. 49.99 times two and 28.70 times two for my daughter and I which I didn't authorize. To be completely honest, it's not the absolute worse gym I've ever been to but it definitely needs improvement. The selections of machines isn't bad but the quality of trainers isn't ideal. The lack of professionalism is very unfortunate. A certain trainer behaved very inappropriately and the other trainers didn't seem phased by it.
