Get directionsI am quite pleased with the care and attention my husband receives and find everyone friendly and caring on the whole.
We looked round several homes before choosing The Grove. From the moment we first arrived we were greeted in a warm, caring, friendly way. Most importantly they spoke directly to mum and didn't ignore her in favour of my sister and I. Mum has Alzheimer's and is thriving at The Grove. She looks so well now, clean and very well fed. The staff are all so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased we found the perfect place for her and have no hesitation in highly recommending this care home.
Fantastic! I felt happy knowing mom was being cared for and she was happy. Some of the activities were childish mum thought.
In the year my father was resident here (untill his recent death) we were regular visitors, and always witnessed the care of my father by the staff to be friendly, respectful and cheerful, and they brought out his sense of humour. The home itself is spacious, bright and smelt pleasant, unlike several other homes we looked round. All staff, from front of staff to laundry staff were very caring and the nursing care he received on last 2 weeks of life was exceptional. Activities were good too. As relatives we were also treated ... read more
Carers are very kind and attentive - Mum is treated as an individual. I am kept informed. The activities programme is especially good for stimulating and socialising residents. I find the reception and admin ladies extremely helpful also.
Very caring staff always. Great facilities.
I am very happy that Mum is well cared for at The Grove. Staff are kind and treat her with respect and good humour. Activities are varied and plentiful and I am grateful for the chiropody and hairdressing services provided. Mum always seems to enjoy the food and is given a good selection of choice. The location of The Grove is beautiful, overlooking Grove Park, of which Mum's room has a lovely view. Of late, Mum has been taken on several nice outings to garden centres and tea rooms and the staff have taken excellent care of ... read more
I have lived at The Grove for ten years. When I first came I had limiting food preferences and did not join in any of the activities offered. I existed. Today I enjoy (look forward to) the excellent meals provided, have a good appetite and involve myself in almost all the activities on offer. My favourite is Gardening Club. Craft, the choir, visiting entertainers and reminiscence 'joggers', knit and natter, bingo, all feature in my life now. At school, I was told my voice was flat, but here I am, 70 years later, adding volum... read more
My mum was in The Grove for approx 18 months, her final week was 'end of life' care. The home and staff over the final week was first class in every department, from manager to care staff. In general, the home was good for my mum, the staff were always professional and caring and for me, that was the main feature. The lows over the period were staff shortages/turnover. The home looks tired in places and dated and a shame for such a beautiful building. The new manager has all the right ideas to improve the home if given the b... read more
