I had a much better experience at this location compared to the Thrive location on Northside Drive (refer to that page for details). The staff here was much more accommodating and I could tell they were more comfortable handling my dog, which totally put me at ease. The doctor was extremely thorough and her technician was polite and super sweet to my pup. I signed up for their care plan and will certainly be back in the future. Thank you to Dr. Donnerstag and the support staff that assisted with the appointment.
We brought our dog to Thrive for the first time today for his annual checkup and shots. They were great! "Dr. V" was very thorough and kind. Everyone was very upbeat and welcoming. Unlike most pets, they were very transparent with the pricing; they explained what everything would cost before doing anything. We got a prescription for his heartworm/flea/tick pills and were able to choose where to buy them online; Thrive's retail site ended up having the best price, and there was no hassle with having the prescription approved.... read more
Can I just say wow! I couldn't have asked for better service at an affordable rate. Sam welcomed me by opening the door for me and was so helpful personable and friendly. I can't remember the last time I had such a pleasant experience checking in. Dr.Vasudevan and Ronald came in to help my scared kitten and they were so friendly, knowledgeable, caring and gentle. Glad to have found this spot to care for our dog. Ronald, Sam, and Dr. Vasudavan were great with him and patient with me while explaining our options. We will definitely be back for future visits.
Dr. Vasudevan and Ronald at THRIVE Decatur were excellent! They had my dog in and out within 30 minutes for her yearly exam and vaccinations! The prices were comparable to the low cost vaccination clinics but without all the waiting in line. I would highly recommend!!
My three dogs and I all loved our experience yesterday. I made my appointment online and it was SO easy and convenient. When I walked in Ronald and Dr. Vasudevan greeted me quickly and got my dogs started immediately. I'm not sure why I pay a monthly fee to belong to this practice. They act like I'm a major inconvenience when I have a dog concern. I get the feeling unless they can get more money from me, I should not bother them. There's a lovely neighborhood vet in Virginia Highlands that we switched to.

I don't have anything against the staff but recently recognized that this company shifted its branding from being known as Thrive Affordable Pet Care to just simply Thrive Pet Care. Whichever marketing firm they went to has failed them as has their leadership. Had I known about others in the area focused on KEEPING PETS WITH THEIR PEOPLE I wouldn't have spent $300 unnecessarily. In less than one year my pup saw 4 different docs. The last doc tried to call in a narcotic, which you cant do. Then they tried to give me an electronic printed Rx for narcotic, still not acceptable. The doctor prescribing had the Rx pad and would not be back for almost a week. Leaving my dying pup to suffer. I will not be going back. The doctor should have know and the staff on how to give a Rx for a narcotic!!
