Very loud and tables are so close together you are force to talk with the other people on both sides of you. Food was just average although the Lasagna was better than average. My wife had pappadella with seafood and it was stuck together and not a large portion. Most of the dishes i saw were very small portions. Waiter did give us a Perseco and some bark chocolate for free. I would not come here again.
Food is always wonderful The place is quirky and charming Staff are always welcoming and pleasant Always a must when we go to New York Plus the pub next door Pj Carneys is always worth a visit
Overall wonderful for our second time in two weeks. The special lasagna is huge and absolutely delicious! So many choices to make for all kinds of dietary concerns and likes.
The service was as good as can be expected with a filled restaurant in 3 floors but wait staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food portions are small for the price, but very tasty. The noise level on a Saturday night two weeks before Xmas was out of control noisy to the point of unpleasant. The place was overflowing which made the constant knocking into my chair by other diners or waiters a bit annoying. I'd recommend going there at off hours in an off season.
I think the Trattoria is awsome. The Pastas and Veal dishes are superb. My wife and I have enjoyed every meal there for at least the past 15+ years, but who is counting. A great attentive wait staff is ready to serve us. The Italian wines offered from the Borolos, Super Tuscans, etc. are outstanding. Kudos to a great NY Italian Restaurant.

Always good food, fish, meat,pasta. Still my fave is the antipasto counter. I go up to it and point to what looks good, although it all looks good. The Green Room is best location.
Suffice to say, my husband orders the same thing every time we go here! He feels that the tuna is the best he has ever had (and he has had it quite often. What I love about this restaurant is that the appetizers are great and you can make a meal out of them along! The steaks are great and you can ecen get very authentic ITALIAN pizza! Love the wait staff as well!!!
Food and waiter were both great! The best cannoli I had the whole trip in New York.
