This place never disappoints. It smells inviting. Maitre'D and serving staff are 'charts'. Seated early, with a glass of prosecco, because the bar was crowded. The menu is excellent. Appys of short rib meatballs and the octopus/calamari not to be missed. The Veal Chop was excellent! I've been here many times and will visit again when I'm in town.

Great Monday late dinner, warm reception, very good service and excellent comfort food in a casual but upscale setting.

Amazing artichoke appetizer as well as delicious mushrooms. The pasta was cooked perfectly and beautifully seasoned and not over sauced! Just right. Nice waiter, good desserts. Good location. Will definitely return.

Trattoria has been a favorite for many years, and it rarely disappoints. Brought an out-of-town friend who loved everything about it...the festive atmosphere, the fresh, yummy food, good, well-priced wine, and attentive, fun service. I try to get there every time I visit NYC. So, what does that tell you?

Always a great experience. The food is excellent and the staff is so warm and friendly. They make you feel like family. Just to mention a few items from the antipasto bar you must try. Eggplant, cauliflower, zucchini parm and mushrooms. (So many to choose from) Pizza and veal parm delicious.

I ordered the scallops and found it to be superb. The antipasto plate has been consistently good over a few visits. However, my friend ordered the spaghetti with clam sauce which was so al dente as to be stiff and inedible. He is the kind of person not to send something back, but it really should not have been brought to the table. I was surprised because I've eaten at Trattoria before. Another odd dish I recommend you avoid is the octopus appetizer. Normally a hit, they drenched it in very salty tomato sauce.

We've been coming to NYC regularly for years and staying nearby but this was the first time we tried Trattoria Dell'Arte. It was truly fabulous. Our waiter was terrific. The prices are a bit high for me but the value was definitely there. Some servings were very very large. Altogether and enjoyable dinner - highly recommended.
