Everything at Trat dell Arte is very good. Antipasti is absolutely delicious and a must. The veal parmesan which can easily be ordered for to as well.
We visit Carnegie Hall from time to time, and this restaurant is our traditional pre-show stop. We found it several years ago, and it has never failed to please - both because the food is terrific (yes, the lasagna really does have 72 layers!) and the service is outstanding. They always ask if we have a show to attend, so that sets the pace for the dinner service. This last we visited, they created an appetizer for us when we told the server what we had in mind. For a romantic dinner, ask for the window seat upstairs.
Amazing service, amazing food, can't praise this place enough.
Excellent friendly service, fantastic authentic Italian food
We love Trattoria Dell/Arte. We go there every time we are in New York City. From Brendan, the charming Maitre'd, to the attentive servers, you'll be well looked after. The food is excellent with large portion sizes. I had a dover sole and my husband had veal parmagiana--we loved both. We also split 4 dishes from the antipasto bar--hen of the woods mushrooms w/thyme, broccolini, potatoes parmesan and home made buratta. All delicious. Just wish we had room for dessert. But we were presented with a little dish of dark chocolat... read more
Have been coming here for 15 years whenever I am in NYC. Not known as a hot spot but the food is always excellent. The decor is very cool, old art deco type. Service has always been really good too. We had a wonderful late dinner with a great bottle of wine and wonderful server. I will continue to go back here.
The best thing going for the restaurant is its location very close to Carnegie Hall. That is where the other eight members of my party were headed after the dinner. The place is noisy, which made conversation possible only with the persons sitting beside you. The restaurant was very accommodating and the service was very good.
With plenty of tables available, we were given one that would have put me right at the center of the bottom of steps leading from the upper to lower level. I had to ask to be moved and was promptly accommodated. Food was disappointing this time. Guamciale on pasts aglio olio was overwhelmingly salty and my ravioli was gummy and drowning in sauce.
I go to Manhattan six times a year. It is a rare trip that doesn't include a stop in here. It is all good. It has a fun menu and a lively vibe. You will always be treated as a regular, even on your first visit. I take friends and business associates often and receive very sincere thanks every time. The food is superb and service is terrific. This place is a New York must.
