Previously, when I was a NYer, I discovered a unique restaurant in the Trattoria. So many delightful surprises in the decor. The menu also has its surprises and special fare. No longer living in NY, I make it a point to go there on every visit. It is easy to do as it is adjacent to Carnegie as close enough to most shows. In addition to a full menu they have a raw bar and an antepasta , where you can select items or ask the waiter to. It is a relatively large restaurant, but still has an intimate feel. The "feel" differs, dep... read more
Very friendly service
Friendly, professional, excellent food, good choices, we often return!
We had such a lovely experience from the time we were welcomed when we arrived. We had a great waiter who did not talk us into full course dinners. The pizza was outstanding. We loved the antipasto bar, and fried artichokes. We all split a pasta which was a little dry but that could have been because it was the end of the night. All in all, a fun night. Sandy D maryland
We entered and were so warmly greeted. The manager shook our hands and greeted us like celebrities. the vibe in the restaurant was so up and positive. Our server was warm, friendly and on his game. The food was delish as was the wine. The vanilla meringue cake sent my husband over the edge. We hadn't eaten there in many years but will certainly go back again soon.
We greatly enjoyed our evening here. Our server was friendly and paced the meal well and everything was fresh and tasty. The only reason I'm not giving fives across the board is the cost. We spent nearly $70 each splitting a salad and dessert and each having a pizza and a glass of wine. Yes, everything was highest quality, but that's quite steep. And if we'd had anything from the grill the bill would have been out of sight. I would go back, but for a special event.
Very nice place. While we didn't see any couples, maybe because it was a weekday, this could be a nice place for romantic dinner. The bread was great, as were our appetizers. The chocolate cake dessert was phenomenal. Our dinners, two nice fish dishes and a steak, were good. Nothing special. We eat in NYC every week, and the food was good, but very overpriced. While typically eat at $$$$ restaurants, but this was not worth the money. The prices are partially driven by the neighborhood.
Best ITALIAN in the theatre district!
Our experience was very good. The food was great, big portions. The atmosphere was good.
