We had dinner here the night before the marathon. Both of us really enjoyed our entree and bread. Tried meatballs and they were fine, but not exceptional. Service staff works hard and fast but despite a reservation, we had to wait in a long line to get our table at the time of reservation. They fit a lot of people in there and we were sort of crammed in a table that had a lot of traffic around it and were jostled around quite a bit. Overall, good carb load meal before the race, which was the point. Just the logistics that we... read more
We stayed just a few blocks away from the restaurant. Its in the heart of the mid-town & Marathon action. The decor is fun and lively with oversized body parts, ear, mouth, etc. What sold me right away was the minute we walked up to the Hostess, she poured us two glasses of Prosecco and smiled. It was great from then on. The food was fresh and delicious. Perfect pre-Marathon dining. Can't wait to come back to New York to go back to Trattoria dell'Arte.
Having been a guest of Trattoria dell'arte many times over the years, I was not surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed the evening's post-concert meal and drinks. Compliments to the entire staff--kitchen, bar, servers, manager--for maintaining outstanding quality.
We were greated enthusiastically and seated promptly. 6pm is early to eat in NY so we were able to be seated in a quiet corner. Service started out attentive but as the restaurant got busy, we felt forgotten at our quiet table for two. Empty glasses were not refilled nor were empty plates removed as timely as expected. However our food was delicious as usual and most definitely would still return. We shared a veal chop and lasagna that was very kindly plated in the kitchen as was the dessert we shared.
All the food was very good. Pizza, veal chop very excellent.
The food is really good. In general, it's a great place except it is TOO LOUD especially upstairs.
Was taken there by a friend and returned a week later. Had a great time and enjoyed everything. From the moment we walked in the front staff made us feel at home, the waiter was great! A woman walking around incredibly helpful possibly the sommelier). And the finishing touch a hot tray of cookies!!! Amazing:)
I go to Trattoria every time I'm in the city, whether before a show or just in the mood for some great Italian. The food is consistently high quality and the wait staff are terrific.
Very friendly staff and great welcome to our first night in New York. Recommend the caramelised fennel and the thin pizza base with roasted vegetables. Will come here again next visit to NY.
