This is our favorite go to place when we are in NYC. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful no matter where you are seated. We stop by after shows for pizza and sit at the appetizer bar where John does a great job taking care of us. He is always the best! We have been going to this restaurant for years. We had our anniversary party in the private room downstairs several years ago. WONDERFUL! We are meeting our friends this Friday - dinner for 12.

We have been going to Trattoria Dell'Arte for over 15 years now. It is quintessential New York. The food is outstanding and the service never misses a beat. It is casual but refined. It has a fun atmosphere and you usually see a celebrity or two (if that's your thing). Always make a reservation. This restaurant is extremely popular (with good reason).

My family of four enjoyed this restaurant tremendously. The prix fixe turkey dinner was excellent, my wife found some great veggie dishes to please her vegan sensibilities and our usually picky 13 year old loved the seafood risotto. The 2 year old didn't eat much, but the super friendly staff fawned all over her. We all loved the food, staff and atmosphere and would go back in a heartbeat.

We so enjoyed our visit to Trattoria Dell'Arte that I called a friend who will be visiting NYC at Christmas and recommended that she book her Christmas Day dinner here. Staff was super friendly. I would recommend a reservation although there were some who did not have one, and they were seated.

This place was ALIVE on Friday night. And everybody seemed to be having fun. Not rowdy, noisy fun...just a lively atmosphere. The art and decorations are interesting, the menu deep and the staff engaging and attentive (starting with the world's most charming maitre d'). We had prime-time reservations and were seated right away at a nice table off to the side. We were well tended to but never felt rushed. Each of us ordered different entrees (4 of us), and each was beautifully presented and flavorful. We will definitely be ba... read more

This place is action packed and always fun-even when your table isn't ready when you arrive! Staff is very friendly, food is great and atmosphere is celebratory. Our waiter (it's the second time I've had him as a waiter) was so nice, and talked to us about Brooklyn so that we walked the bridge round trip the day after dinner!

Our reservations were for 10:30 for a large party and our table was ready for us, despite the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy. Our server was quite knowledgeable and funny, and paid just the right amount of attention to us. The food was incredibly good (I'm craving the house-made mozzarella as I write this) and served at a lovely pace that invited lively conversation rather than hurried eating. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go there again the next time I attend a performance at Carnegie. ... read more
