Had important business lunch and this was recommended by a friend who works nearby. Asked for good table and got it even though I was unknown to the restaurant. Definitely will go back for dinner. Excellent Italian food and loved the procuitto biscuits and later Choc chip cookies that came around hot from the oven and still on baking sheets. My guest has food allergies and he was well accommodated with no fuss. It was not full the day we were there just prior to Thanksgiving but guessing there is a nice buzz other times.
We now live in FL We have always gone to a Broadway play prior to Thanksgiving and Trattoria Dell'Arte is a part of that tradition. The friendly waiters, service and food have been consistent for the last 10 years.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly and given a choice of a couple of table to sit at (nice touch). The Margherita pizza was rated superior (very thin, crispy). The 101-layer Lasagna was average (rated 5 out of 10). The trout entree was very oily and very salty (rated 4 out of 10). The desserts were good.
It is always a pleasure and everyone is so friendly you don't know you are in NY
Convenient to Carnegie Hall. Food was a disappointment tho, nothing special. My fish was a bit overcooked, for example.
Great place to eat before hitting Carnegie Hall!
This was a pre-concert evening for Carnegie Hall. Having been delayed in traffic, Trattoria was able to move our reservation ahead by one hour. That left only one hour pre-concert. The wait staff was amazing and we had drinks, a meal with dessert and still get to the performance on time. Pretty amazing and we are grateful to them.
The food was great and we had a terrific waiter - he couldn't have been more attentive or helpful. We all had a wonderful time.
Excellent dining experience with clients. Server was spot on with suggestions. Good value for NYC in particular. Would go again for sure.
