A buffet that is excellent? Very true here and you can really make the meal you want, versus the meal a chef wants to show off. I enjoy the back room and the bar in particular.

Trattoria Dell'Arte was our favorite Italian restaurant in the city in the '90s but we hadn't been back since. We decided to check it out again and I'm happy to report that it's still excellent in every way. Being vegetarians our options were somewhat limited but everything we ordered was delicious and the service was top notch. Of course it's also very pricey but we knew that going in. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who simply loves great Italian food.

It's hard to decide which is better at Trattoria Dell'Arte; the food, the service, the wine list, or the ambience. This place is a must for me while visiting the City, often multiple times. The menu has something for everyone, no matter their palates, and the largest antipasto bar in the City is great for lunch or dinner. My Faves include the home-made burrata, the fried artichokes, the carbonara, the veal chops parmesan, their thin-crust pizzas, and the newly added (for me) rabbit ossobucco.

I thought the food was average at best. This is not the first time for me at tis restaurant. I went with 8 people. 3 of us had the sign veal chop which everyone thought was good ( not great ). The other 5 all had different dishes and were not impressed. All 8 of us were not impressed with the hot antipasta as well. To top things off we sat upstairs. The low ceiling was very low and made the room feel very cramped. One of my friends was well over 6" tall. Imagine how he felt??? Way over priced for the quality of food and I di... read more

Food was terrific, but service was off; waiter forgot to put in our order for appetizers, then later gave us the wrong entrees. Made it up by giving us a free appetizer plate before our appetizers arrived, and comped our $50 bottle of wine. So they did the right thing. I think our service was a fluke, as I did not see problems at other tables, and the restaurant was packed. I'll give them another try next time I'm going to Carnegie Hall.

Our group of eight had a great time and a great meal. The wait staff is fantastic. I particularly like that, if a table is available, they'll seat you as the guests arrive, rather than making you wait until your entire group is there. Our waiter, Marco, was just wonderful. I take people to Trattoria Dell'Arte as often as I can!

excellent for a light meal pre-theater, pre-Carnegie Hall. We ordered from the appetizer bar and everything was excellent.
