Always go here when we are in NY. One of the few places we eat at more than once.
The food is always good and the service was top notch.
The tables in the are close to the street are too crowded. It was difficult to hold a conversation with my guest without having people nearby not only listen but also feeling compelled to intervene, as when he asked what a particular item in the menu was. More space would be welcomed.
love the appetizers--they are great. Food is expensive for the smallish portions you get but overall a good experience.
This is a noisy place, across from Carnegie Hall, that draws family groups and others who have apparently been coming here for years. The young waiters, many aspiring actors, are friendly and helpful, the enormous antipasto table is legendary - and you can just specify seven dishes everyone at the table likes for a wonderful beginning. The grilled prawns were fantastic, and everyone loved the veal piccata, dorado special and seafood papardelle. The chocolote bombe dessert is to die for, and the lemon pie was also a delight.
We had a great experience at lunch. We were there to see some friends we have not seen in almost 20 years, so we stayed around for almost 4 hours. The menu offered many options. The food was excellent. But most of all, our waitress was very efficient and patient. We received great service from her and the other wait staff. We will return.
Good restaurant for an evening with friends, especially before or after a concert at Carnegie Hall. The yellowfin tuna is wonderful and the tin crusted pizza are delicious. If you get to have a table in the cellar, it's much quieter and more intimate.
This place was hopping! Quite the lunch spot for dining with important business types --- especially senior level executives from television news. There was a Phillies baseball player and club executive the day we went during the World Series. The food was fabulous; the pasta bolognese a little greasy however. Our waiter was very clear about what the best dishes to order were and he was right! Very helpful and very efficient!
Service was uncaring. Location is convenient to midtown shoppers and theater-goers.
