Oh my gosh! My husband was given this as an option after a short hospital stay to complete his recovery, and as it was a Friday and we had little time to "shop around" we picked the one with the best ratings. I'm not sure who wrote the reviews but they were far from our experience. This place is like something you'd see on a hidden camera expose, that you couldn't believe was true. The patients don't get the medication on time. They're always in pain.The nurses don't follow instructions
The worst place ever!! My mom was there for a short while and almost died from neglect! Lots of lip service from the nurses, but no one follows through. A complaint to the State is pending!
The reviews posted are a smoke screen cover for a dismal experience with a poorly run institution. Rarely will you see an RN or LPN (except if they do not "overlook" your medications) in the room, and never an actual doctor. The CNAs are heroically doing their best, and the PT department is top notch. But the rest of the staff prefaces their duties with "we don't", "we don't haves," "we can't", "you have to talk to," excuses. Help and care is consistently passed to someone else who never shows up. Omg!!! By far one of the worst I've stayed in. Their physical therapy is amazing and most LVN's and some CNA's are great. I should've listened to my first roommate and left when she did. I broke my ankle about a year and a half ago. I was down there to look for a house and to further my college degrees (as in check out different law schools). 5 stars...MY ASS! This place is a joke! The girl at the front desk didn't even look up from her phone once she opened the door for us or say a word! I had to tell her why I was there. I was there to pick up my mother in laws things because she died at the hospital just a hour before. Not a SINGLE person asked how she was (except the Med nurse, I forget her name but she was so kind and actually started crying). Well well well is there an actual manager that runs this place. So I had a bad attack with mean words from a particular cna, nurse or whoever she is. She was very rude, disrespectful and didn't acknowledge about my mom. My mom is very anemic and gets cold very easily but she wouldn't understand cuz she's too busy running her mouth instead. During the time my mother my mother was at University Care Center we were consistently met with unorganized and rude staff on several occasions. My mom was there from April 9th to May 11th. During that month our family (multiple family members) did our best to visit my mom. Upon transfer to UCC, my mother was placed under quarantine and our family was only able to see her through the glass doors in the lobby. My mom stayed 3 days in this horrible facility... on the 4th day she was assaulted!! I worked diligently with the designated Ombudsman and we both agreed the best action would be to call 911 and have her removed by ambulance. While the facility tried to tell me that my mom could not leave until she filed the police report- thankfully I knew my rights and my mom could file the police report at Scripps Hospital and did not have to stay at this facility.
