I applied with Unlick after a divorce that left me with debt and a lower credit score due to Ex refusing to continue pay any marital debt during divorce. My home was paid for so had zero mortgage. Unfortunately my application was with Unlock for 16 weeks. In those weeks they sent the appraiser to the wrong house in the wrong state. 6 weeks later I receive the wrong/ another client title that closed over 8 years ago. Wasted almost 4 months just to have my app. Denied because of the type of home I was Unlocking equity out of. Unlock known the type of property I was using in the 1st week. Bad business and a total waste.
I applied with the company to pull equity out of my home and the process started out good. Then took a turn. My appraisal came in at $297k but then the company started saying the down payment I received through the county I reside when I purchased the home had to be off which was 5k. Then they said the money from the forbearance I did with my mortgage company during the pandemic had to be paid back which is $26k. I started he process in March. Very sporadic response from the agent representing us (sometimes return responses would be over 48 hours-I would initiate the call). We were asked to complete and submit documents-this was usually completed and submitted within hours after requested.
