Total scammers! Up front quote was $2,900, on the day of the move, after collecting payment, the price went up to $7,200. Bait and switch scammers! Most of their positive reviews are fakes, you can see they follow the same template. Check out the reddit thread about them for the truth.
DO NOT USE. THIS IS A BROKER THEY CHARGE A TON AND SELL YOUR MOVE TO ANOTHER COMPANY WHO THEN CHARGES WAY MORE MONEY AND HOLDS YOUR STUFF HOSTAGE TILL YOU PAY QUADRUPLE THE ORIGINAL FEE............ Complete Liars. Oh and movers they sell your move to completely unprofessional and have no clue what they're doing.
We found Value Added Moving online after a Google search and a review of the company's reviews. We were particularly drawn to your website which states: "From the booking agent to the dispatch department, every step of the way you have a personal advocate, taking care of all of your needs," and "We negotiate on your behalf to secure the most competitive moving quotes available. The biggest scamming company that triples their price last minute and wants to claim your entire down payment when you cancel. Don’t choose these scammers!!!!
They are VERY good at scamming. They lie their way into a sale. Value Added is not a carrier, they are a broker. And the estimate they give you in the beginning is just a tiny percentage of what you will pay. I wish I wouldn’t have gone with them. You don’t get a “free flight of stairs” - you only get 7 free stairs and then every step after that is an extra cost. Also you pay for labor PER SQUARE CUBIC FOOT which they don’t explain to you. These people just show up to my house. I have a quote how much my stuff is everything that’s on the list that I gave them is there it’s less than what is on the list is mine one minus one dresser and minor one cube they try to charge me $3000 so now they cancel my move once I went to my house and they won’t refer me be careful with these people.
DO NOT USE! RUN! They brokered my move out to a company that has an “F” Better Business Rating. (American Hills Moving and Storage- look it up) It was and still is a NIGHTMARE. The total cost of my move was THREE x what they quoted. They showed up late and didn’t finished loading until 1am. They were supposed to store my property until we found a new home. They shipped it. Had to scramble and find a storage unit. The list goes on. DO NOT RECOMMEND VALUE ADDED OR AMERICAN HILLS.
I am so disappointed in this company! I went through a detailed list of everything we were moving with sizes of everything. They gave me a price for the move that included the detailed list of our furniture and boxes (with sizes of each box) and today tbe movers get here and the price more than doubled! We were stuck in either losing 1/2 the cost of the move we put down as a deposit if we canceled. Or paying the additional cost to the mover.
