This was the most smooth, hassle-free car buying experience I ever had. Tom Phan and John Ellis are nice, professional straightforward guys who can be easily trusted. Car salesman(David) was great but his manager was aweful. I felt like i was being taking advantage of and come to find out I was. I was able to go to Goodson Acura and get a very good deal for a better car than Vandergriff was trying to finance me for. They were trying to finance me at a very high interest rate where as Goodson acura lowered my interest rate by 6%. I am active duty military and purchased a vehicle with Vandergriff Acura in Arlington, TX, while visiting family in April 2011. As part of the purchase we requested a DVD player to be installed into the new vehicle we were purchasing. We pointed to the DVD player that was pre-installed into other MDX vehicles and expected that the product was ACURA brand and the service would be performed at the dealer, both were assumptions I would later regret, we paid an additional $900.00 for this service. Let me state clearly that this review is only of the Service department. A few instances come to mind as I rate this dealership... 1. "Checking" the engine and cabin air filter is a part of the "A12" (oil change) maintenance. These filters are very easy to replace and Vandergriff seems to enjoy trying to get this easy money. I once changed the engine air filter and cabin air filter myself about one week before taking it in for an oil change service. When I took it in for service, the tech tells me I needed new filters. I visited this dealership around 10:30 am to inquire about purchasing a used Acura. My orginal sales associate had to leave for a family emergency so I was introduced to a different sales associate, along with two additional people from other departments ( including Keith Poole). I purchase a used car from Vandergriff in November. 3 weeks later my low tire light comes on and I am noticing a noise coming from the passenger side wheel area. I take the vehicle to the dealership and I am told the front two tires are bad and need to be replaced due to the alignment being out on the car. Bought a used TL that still needs major mechanical repair. After the test drive and financing tried to take advantage (and they probably did in the end),warning lights lit up the panel. The salesman said drive the car home and with driving the warning lights would go out. I did and the next day they were still on . When I returned to the Dealership, I was told that the car was sold as is and there was nothing that they could do. After a lengthy discussion , ONE problem was repaired ,but numerous others have been my headache.
I tried to call this place all day and no one picks up the phone. I have attempt 6 times to reach them. do they even have anyone working at this place?
Would never recommend this dealer. Tommy the sales person did a good job. Quoted a price out the door of $22,400. We had to go back to Plano to pick up kids. Got a cashiers check for the full amount and drove back to dealership to fill out paperwork and get car. My wife was filling out the paperwork when Tommy noticed the price was$24,600 Terry in finance said Tommy must have misunderstood and they could not honor the price quoted.
